Assuming Dak signs the tag and we make other moves, I give it a C for now.
I don't expect them to do much more with either DE or CB. Maybe downroster backups, then go to the draft willing to take DEs and CBs.
Right there with ya. CA solid C. Could be a C-.
The signing of our own thing is nice until you realize they were all part of last year's failure.
The only outside influence they have introduced is Gerald McCoy.
Sorry, it is going to take more to impress me.
No amount of herb will make him lose that freakish first step; granted that was Quinn's one major strength. I hear your point though, I could see Gregory starting off fine but hitting a wall mid season, nothing prepares you for that type of stamina. Would rather they sign a stop gap to let them rotate. So let me get this straight.......... a guy who hasn't played in 2 years and still might not even be ready to play in 2020 is an upgrade over a guy who had one of the best pass rush rates in football last year (granted he was blah against the run)?
That's some serious optimism right there.
I'm expecting them to be drafting corners, but I hope that they do something tonaddress that DE spot. I'm not all that thrilled with this year's prospects at that spot.
I'm hoping that they talk to Everson Griffen with the money that they ticketed for Robert Quinn.
Seems good. Too good for the money he's been making. But I don't see them bringing in a guy that keeps Gregory off the field, and I don't see a guy coming off a Pro Bowl looking to be a backup.
I think the plans for Quinn were prior to seeing how the CBA would (?) let Gregory come back and stay back.
They took a pretty big step with McCoy.Plus still need more inside D help.
I hope not!
You don;t make plans with and rely on unreliable players. The Cowboys would be fools to base any decisions they make on Randy Gregory, if he even comes back at all.
