Have a great time. You're lucky. I looked up ticket prices to her shows, and they were insanely expensive. I've seen footage of her shows, and, yeah, she really does put on a show.
I saw Taylor in concert on Saturday.
She broke Lucas Oil Stadium’s attendance record on Friday night. Then broke it again on Saturday. Then broke it again on Sunday.
It was a surreal experience. I’ve been to concerts, and sporting events, and conventions, but this felt like a bigger deal. It felt more like a “cultural experience” than going to a concert.
The demographic was obviously predominantly female. Everyone was dressed to the nines. Sequins everywhere, glittery mini skirts, flowing dresses. Guys were there in suits, or wearing Cowboy outfits, or full Travis Kelce uniforms.
Since my family member who won the tickets at work is employed by a huge cooperation that throws money around for their employees, we were in a suite. VIP tickets. It was awesome not needed to wait in line.
But even so, the environment wasn’t stuffy. All these corporate, professional business people were excited to be there. I’m fact VP of the company was there. He was dancing, getting more and more lively (and drinking more and more free booze provided by the company). Eventually he screamed “she’s doing it…. She’s sucking me in!!!” And he partied the rest of the night, dancing with his wife, who knew every song.
Taylor herself was everything you would expect and more. She preformed for 3 hours, over forty songs. Her vocals were great. Her stage setup, lighting, dancers, choreography, and band were all top notch. She had prop after prop after prop. The 69,000 people in the audience all got a bracelet at the door, and they light up. Your bracelet would be glowing, or flashing along to the beat of a song, or forming some sort of pattern in the crowd depending on where you were sitting. She did so many outfit changes, that all happened so quickly, it was hard to keep track.
She was a complete pop star, and held the crowd in the palm of her hand from the moment she appeared onstage, to the moment she left. I can see why she’s the biggest act in the world right now. Taylor isn’t my favorite artist, but her concert was a more special experience than any other concert I’ve been to.
