Her solo stuff is meh. She did a cover album, and she showed off her pipes. I was referring to her as a ChickI liked her in the Dixie Chicks, but haven't heard any solo stuff.
only thing that comes to mind is Michael McDonald or Rod Stewart...
I can't bring myself to listen to Dave Matthews and don't know why but trust myself to have a good reason. I will add the last thing this world needs is another Lionel Richie in any shade. I remember why I don't like him, but won't get into it.
Actually, while I was futzing around the house here, the song continued to bounce around in my head, and I started thinking it has just a little of a Van Morrison feel to it.sheesh
(Altho, early Rod Stewart is pretty bad arse)
But, sheesh

You reeled me back in!Actually, while I was futzing around the house here, the song continued to bounce around in my head, and I started thinking it has just a little of a Van Morrison feel to it.
Dirty Projectors, anyone? Bitte Orca.
You reeled me back in!
Definite semblance when he's solo with Reynolds (kinda, but I see it, Run/maybe if you mashed up Lynryd with Dave lol)
(and dude, Van Morrison is woefully non-represented in this thread)
He cross-genres like Bob Dylan. He isn't as good, but he's almost equally diverse. In one album you have him crooning, in another he sounds like the Stones. Still, there are tracks, like the first one I posted, where there is a similarity with he and Dave (just different timbres in voice).I need to add some Van Morrison to my library. I like his stuff, but for some reason I never bought any of it.
His writing isn't quite as good as Dylan's, but his vocals are far better. I don't really care for much of Bob Dylan, to be honest. He cross-genres like Bob Dylan. I tried, but could only listen for a very brief time. To me, it sounds like Yoko Ono and Joni Mitchell adopted a cat and taught it to sing.
Gah!!! No one is the poet Dylan is. And I adore Dylan's nasal vocals!!!!!His writing isn't quite as good as Dylan's, but his vocals are far better. I don't really care for much of Bob Dylan, to be honest.
Nope. Can't do it, brother.....I hear it, and all that runs through my mind is the old high school talent shows.
Dude, I can go even deeper in the habit hole. Try the last track I posted. It's gorgeous. If you can't, then yes, steer clear.![]()

Sorry man, but I just don't dig much of his stuff. Like a Rolling Stone and Tangled Up in Blue are great songs, but not much else does it for me.Gah!!! No one is the poet Dylan is. And I adore Dylan's nasal vocals!!!!!![]()

It's Rocky Raccoon, but, arguably, better
