My gosh, did Brian Wilson ever shape music. The music I listen to, the contemporary music I listen to, is so much more influenced by Wilson than anything Lennon/McCartney, other than a passing "yeah, The Beatles are my idols"

My bands SOUND like The Beach Boys on acid. Save Tame Impala, who sound like Lennon

For sure man, I definitely get you there and agree. Hip-hop was just at it's peak and just felt so much more pure then. I can still listen to some, but as a whole, it's just not the same.
