lol...man... I can't answer that question...

They were moving away from what they were and fans didn't appreciate it. I get that bands and music evolves over time, but they changed just a bit too much for a lot of their fans. I really liked them until Load and Reload. There are a few songs on those two and after that are okay, but are the exception rather than the rule. I even really enjoyed their Black album.
I think they just got too far away from what inspired them and focused on different inspirations to the detriment of the fans.
King Nothing is one of my favorite Metallica songs. It's hard to pick with Metallica, but that one I can say definitively, it's one of the top 10 from them for me.
Have you heard the new song, Hardwired? It's pretty good. Can't post it on here though.

No, but I'll check it out. Thanks!
Edit: Just listened to it. I love parts of it and am meh on others. The drums and baseline are killer. The guitar work is good, but not great The lyrics? meh.
I've heard it. Sounds like a mix of Death Magnetic, but sped up to the Kill'em All / Ride the Lightning speeds.
I've only heard it once and part of it sound good, other parts I wasn't so sure about. Sometimes when Metallica changes their sound. It takes me a few listens before it starts to kick in with me, but sometimes. It never does.
Watched an 80's movie called Hot Dog the movie...Comedy 80's about skiing.
Oddly enough I have had a couple of the songs stuck in my head all day.
By the same person....
