If it is any consolation to you, I think we are much closer to "when" than "if" we fire Garrett. And that is a good thing. The league is changing very rapidly and we need someone who can adapt and get the most out of what we have.
2014 you think - gawd even if win the east - we are one an done
I am up for the change -this shaw guy sounds interesting
I think he would be the best hire since JJ.Opie cannot be compared to Shaw. Opie would not even be qualified enough to be on Shaw's Stanford squad. Shaw is a Dream Coach for us. He is qualified and has paid his dues in the NFL and the College Ranks. We just need Jerry/Stephen to "See the Light" and stop being blinded (or Blackmailed) by Opie.

Sorry to break it to you but as long as Jerry is in charge it won't matter who you bring in.
have you seen stanford play?
and fyi shaw has actually coached longer in the nfl than opie.
Good resume. NFL experience combined with college Head Coaching experience is an optimal background.
I don't think Garrett gets fired under any circumstance this year. Callahan on the other hand, could be in trouble.
I totally disagree. Jerry does not develop the Offensive and Defensive Game Plans. Jerry does not have input on the In Game adjustments. Jerry does not manage the Clock. Jerry does not develop the players. Jerry does not put them in the best position to maximize their abilities/talent.
We can blame Jerry for poor Free Agent Signing decisions, Trades, Salary Cap Mangement, and Hiring Head Coaches but once the Regular Season begins the Head Coach is fully responsible and accountable. Opie is one of the highest paid HCs even though his Teams' performances each year are average at best.
Funny part is that Jerry Fired Laundry, Campo, Gailey, Wade etc yet he just cannot seem to come to grips to fire Opie. He must think that Opie is the second coming of Sean Payton and he does not want to let him get away to flourish with another organization.

doubt we could get him. why would he want to leave one of the most prestigious, well recruiting programs in the country? then come to this mess we have in Dallas..
Working under a singular president, gm, CEO, owner, co-coach, and aspiring player in Jerry Jones

First of all he had nine-year run as an NFL assistant coach with stints for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, and Baltimore Ravens.. Second he was hand chosen by Jim Harbaugh.. And third his teams are hard nosed.. good tacklers and he knows how to play the spread, run option and hurry up offenses...

Yeah, why would a college coach want to move up to the big leagues for the biggest, most glamorous coaching job in all of American Sports...

If they keep Garrett, but pull his offense off the table and bring in an entirely new offense and OC, I'd be as happy as I could probably be under those circumstances.
It is still dysfunctional, but I'm getting used to that in Dallas. Would be really nice to do things like a normal, well run organization for a change.
