He ran a lot his rookie year too.
He was a decent runner till he broke the leg.

Have to add, he was not running safely when he got the leg broke.
He tried to run thru a tackle instead of sliding.

I saw the wash qb do same crap and he hurt his ribs.
I would think they would be smarter and or the coach would make them run safely.

Yes been saying this for awhile . The pre broken ankle injury and post are two different QB’s.

Even Joe Burrow has a 40 plus TD run this year, not advocating turning Dak into a running threat QB but today with the speed in the NFL drop back pocket passers with little escape extend play features are going to be more rare then the rule.

The guy tonight opposite Dak , takes off when he needs to. This was to be the last year of this contract . Was .

Just imagine if Dak could still run like this! I haven't seen this in a long time and was a little surprised.

He's in the NFL now a 9 year vet, what does this even have to do with the 2024 season, like do you even get what you're posting??? He's slower than your dislike for my thoughts, this is giving us false dreams of what he can't do anymore!! Would make our offense move better I know that! I just don't get you (gosh I sound just like you!)

A broken leg and $60 million will do that. One doesn't drive a Ferrari in a snow storm. The problem then becomes, can Dak drop back and consistently pick apart a defense? Someone has to be able to run to help the offense.

To me Dak was never an electric runner but he had great running instincts and used those to maximize that part of his game early on. But even before the ankle injury that part of his game was consistently decreasing and the injury just accelerated that decrease to non-existent.

I just think it got to a point where they wanted to protect him and he was instructed to run less….I’m not sure by who but I’d figure you-know-who was involved in that decision.

He flat out isn’t good enough to be an exclusive pocket passer, hence the current frustration of many.

Think about his rookie year. Man he would extend so many drives with his legs. Then the powers that be wanted to make him Dan Marino. My theory anyway.

The ankle and calf injuries in consecutive seasons have all but taken away this aspect of his game. If you need 10 yards, he may get you 6.

If you need 10 yards he may turn the ball over forcing it to lamb. The running dimension is lost entirely.
