Interesting poll....Just goes to show Jerry has killed the fan base...there is no younger fans.
Yup.
By 2000 there was nothing special about the cowboys, unless you were attracted by the uniform and Jerry's constant presence on ESPN.

It's also possible, if not likely, that most 20 year olds have things they'd rather do than be on a fan forum.

I've spoken to few high school kids, and met few of my son's college friends. They couldn't care less about the cowboys, or the NFL for that matter.
And these kids love sports. They played HS basketball with my son, and some played HS football, but they have very little interest in the cowboys, if any at all.
Anecdotal, for sure, but it is what it is....

If they're not fans of the NFL in general, it doesn't really make sense for people to blame Jerry for them not being Cowboys fans. The world is so different now, with the internet, gaming consoles, etc., than it was when most of us were in high school or college. At that age especially, they're probably more interested in partying with their friends than watching football...I know I was.

They don't blame Jerry. He's just some rich old dude to them. They just don't think the cowboys are that special. They grew up without knowing the "America's Team".
It's I who place some of that blame on Jerry.

I wasn't saying "they" blame Jerry. I was saying if certain people aren't interested in the NFL, there's no reason to blame Jerry for them not being interested in the Cowboys, because they wouldn't have been anyway, regardless of who the owner was.

I have three sons who all grew up watching every Cowboys game played in the late 80s all through the 90s. They loved the Cowboys. Some of my fondest memories are of the four of us watching those 90s Cowboys in the playoffs.

But times change. My oldest son is now 38, middle son is 36 and youngest is 34. For the last 10 years, they don’t even watch the Cowboys anymore. My oldest son was 12 the last time they played in the SB. They consider them a complete joke. It makes me sad but I understand. They’re still big sports fans. In fact one of my sons is a high school basketball coach. And they all love football- just not the Cowboys.
