It's gotta be awkward for him to have all these lawyers and judges and stuff all bc he hugged the wrong girl and she caught feelings afterwards

Yes, but that was the district court: not relevant to the appeal.
I thought this info was pretty well circulated around the Zone?
Even if Zeke got a stay wouldn't the League argue that Zeke is suspended this week no matter what since it is too late to change his statusZeke’s team has yet to hear from the appeals court in NY that has jurisdiction. They asked for a ruling by end of business yesterday but did not get it. That court is not in session today or Friday, I have been told, but could be wrong. In the event there is a ruling, it would come Saturday, if these judges work on weekends.
IMO opinion, which will not buy you a cup of coffee at Starbucks, he is out this weekend. The NFL filed its own brief to contest Zeke’s effort as well. Roger will go to the mat and spend any amount of money on attorneys to win.

They should. Faila was being a total tool of the establishment when she harped on the CBA. Like that is some kind of stone tablet written by the finger of god. Several other judges have disagreed completely with her. They correctly applied not only the LETTER of the law but the SPIRIT of the law which means that fundamental fairness should always be the standard and anything that violates that is illegal.I remember when all of our legal experts where talking about principles of fundamental fairness and that those principles trump any written agreement.
Yeah pooey!
no thinking about it- they flat out said that one judge's opinion is better than 5 others simply because of jurisdiction.I think they just called all those other judges a bunch of *******es....

Then the scotus should definately rule in zekes favor right. Cause this process was fundamentally unfair to zeke? They should. You didn't say it. But there were posts about fundamental fairness regardless of written contract or written agreementsI don't think anyone said that. Or at least I didn't. I think there should be an implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing implied in the CBA.
Employees are not gennerally entitled to due process before reprimand or termination. But once there is a right to due process, then it must be real due process and not a sham.
Due process includes prior notice and an opportunity to be heard. If he is denied the opportunity to present certain evidence in his defense then it isn't due process at all.
The courts cannot and should not rewrite a contract between two parties. But this case is a total witch hunt.
I think really that Zeke SHOULD probably win this appeal but he may not. What I am more unsure about is whether the conduct hearing can just be set aside and done again, with true due process after the fact and he still be found in violation of the rules of conduct.
I haven't read the CBA and that is obviously important. I am speaking in generalities.
Like many others have said, even if the league CAN suspend him based on zero evidence, I am not sure why they would. The Cowboys have sure been the subject of lots of questionable stuff from the NFL. It's pretty odd.

Somehow I think that's not how it's going to play out.
Not arguing here but I had a situation where someone that was tight on cash sold a buddy his property for about 1/4 of the appraised. Could he come back and say this is fundamentally not fair? It's a fine deal but just curious. My buddy's attorney says nope. He signed you paid it's done. Your thoughts
Oh no my buddy was the other party. He bought the propertyNope, that sounds like a legal contract between two parties at the time it was made based on a willing buyer and seller at that moment in time. But when the players ratified the CBA, there was likely an expectation of fundamental fairness, or no reason to think there wouldn't be, in disciplinary proceedings that Zeke's case totally violates. The lack of fundamental fairness (or due process) in Zeke's case is also an affront to the public interest more broadly and should be offensive to anyone's sense of justice. Unless, there was some kind of fraud in your buddy's case, he's out of luck; he was short on cash and took a low ball offer to get his money in hand.
