When do you think the new coach will be announced?

I'm as anxious as I know everyone else is, but I feel that interviewing more people isn't a bad thing. In fact, I could live with waiting until after the Super Bowl to interview Rivera or Caldwell. Whatever means needs to be taken to ensure we have the best guy for the Cowboys.

So, what do you think? Will it be announced tomorrow? Will we wait until after the Super Bowl? When will the coach be announced in your opinion, and why do you think it's a good or bad thing?

Well, if it's not announced tomorrow, then it'll probably be announced Monday (after Rivera is interviewed). There's absolutely no way of knowing until then. If I had to guess, though, I'd say tomorrow.

When your initial interviews are with the likes of Sparano, Bowles, Haley, Gibbs, Turner, etc. ... yeah, I'd agree the more interviews, the better.

Rivera has been the guy that would intrigue me all along. Perhaps he's not a good candidate, but I think he's proven enough to at least warrant an interview.

Since jerry is going to the super bowl on thursday, i'd say if its not tommorow it has to be monday or later.

I heard on some talk radio show that the commissioner does not like making these kind of announcements so close to the Superbowl.Cited that it should be about the 2 teams actually in it.Also refferenced when Emmit announced his retirement the week of the superbowl and how that garnered attention away from the teams who were playing.Don't know how much weight that carries especially considering we now have a new commish.Haviving said that it could very well be after the game if that is true and Jerry does not want to upset the commish.Might as well interview Rivera at that point, huh?

I agree, the faster we get the faster we get all our asst. coaches in order. It's more important than ten min. away from superbowl talk, which has already been beat to death.

Either Jerry knows and is messing around with people, or he's truly clueless. 8+ interviews is nuts--there's really no reason for it except to 1. be showy, or 2. pick people's brains, or 3. test the public perception waters.

I would think Jerry would be more of a leader than this.

I would actually be pissed if he only interviewed a few people. Why not interview everyone you think might have chance? This is the best way to find the right man.

Typically, what's good for any organization is good for the league. He may have some sort of equitable notion in mind by trying to focus on these two teams, but he should be worried about the overall economic picture.

You dont have an 8 hour interview with Singletary the day before you annouce someone else unless you are annoucing singletary. otherwise the LONG interview today shows Jerry isnt sure yet IMO
