When does Gallup Return?

Gallup
I like what Wilson has done as a utility guy and I'm a fan of Noah Brown as a 4th/5th type WR...
- However, Gallup is a legit NFL starting WR and has been the deep threat guy.
- If Gallup returns to form, then it allows Lamb to focus on the slot type routes where he is dominant.
- With Gallup out, Lamb does not always get to run the routes that are best suited for him.

Schultz
TE Schultz is a good story, but he is still close to being in the utility player category.
- Kellen Moore has schemed him open.
- We saw in the Bronco games that Schultz struggles to separate or make contested catches.
- Schultz is not Witten.
- I still don't fully understand how Witten could beat CBs in man coverage, but he had that ability.
- Byron Jones liked to practice again Witten in an attempt to improve his own game.
- Witten routinely beat him despite Jones being an uber athlete.
- It was scaled down version of Mike Irvin vs Deion.
- Irvin was one of few that could beat Deion repeatedly i a game.
Schultz also does not have Jarwin's speed.
Jarwin didn't look too good this season, but they miss his speed.

Pollard
He has visibly bulked up and is better between the tackles than some fans/media believe...
- However, I don't feel like he has quite the freakish burst/athleticism as he did in the past.

Summary: My point is that the offense might need another big play threat.

I agree with all of this. Gallup is a deep threat and is more consistent than Wilson. Plus, he is good for catching contested passes.

I also agree that the Cowboys need a big play threat. The NFL today is all about speed at the skill positions and you see some teams loading up on fast guys. I wanted the Cowboys to draft Quez Watkins a couple of years ago. A guy with 4.2 speed makes defenses play honest. If you want to play your safeties down in the box, then we'll run our 4.2 guy right past you. Although yesterday Dak probably would have missed him.

Completely disagree on Pollard and Schulz.

Pollard is better now than ever (drop aside). He is quick, fast and breaks arm tackles. He looks like the quickest/fastest guy we have on offense to me by a long shot. Don't see him losing a step at all this year.

Schulz is a good TE with quick feet who knows how to get open, and is good at making people miss after the catch. Agree he isn't great at the contested catch or high-pointing the ball. Neither was Witten. Not saying he is as good as Witten, but they are somewhat similar players. He is a serviceable #1 TE.

Can't believe we are talking about these two guys after (1) the oline's performance yesterday (2) Dak's performance yesterday (3) the tackling yesterday (4) the fact that the WR could not get separation for the most part.

Would be great to get Gallup back. He is more physical than Wilson and can get open deep. He is also good at quick screens and runs after the catch.

We have plenty of playmakers and speed. Pollard is 4.3, Amari is 4.3/4.4. CD is a great runner. I have no interest in throwing another Tavon Austin in the lineup.

Needed to get some quick passes to the edge yesterday similar to the TB game. That game plan would have worked. We thought we were a lot better and could play a 'typical' game and we got blown up.
