When does Hardy become an option?

...how does it mean he's a "quitter"? All it shows me is that the guy hates losing to such a degree that it affects his entire mood in a negative way and just adds ONE MORE reason imo to bring the dude back. I'm tired of guys who don't give two ****s about losing. This team NEEDS guys like Dez n Hardy, guys who would do just about ANYTHING to win. If u don't like or see the need to have more dudes with that kind of fight and killer instinct, then don't b all UP IN ARMS *****ing n moaning when the team continues in its pitifully mediocre ways.

If hating to lose causes a player to party, be late for meetings, create tension in the locker room and have a physical altercation with a coach during a game that's not the kind of player you need if you want to rebound from a 4-12 season. I'm tired of you guys who don't give two ***** about a players character and who keep making excuses for this thug when some of the same people were bashing Ware for having only 6 sacks in 2013 due to being hampered by an injury.

His down year wasn't a result of partying and poor physical condition that caused him to wear down and quit as the season went on. The team needs guys like Dez but don't lump him in with a thug who was charged with beating up a woman resulting in him being released from the Panthers and slapped with a league suspension. The crap Hardy was pulling last season wasn't passion he's a volatile player who can't control his emotions.

If a player wants to win they're not going to be late for meetings or party during the season that's not what winners do. Hardy didn't even show up against Carolina the team that dumped him. Most players have a chip on their shoulder against their former team but Hardy was a no show. The Cowboys were the most pitiful they've been in 26 years with Hardy who provided nothing but a distraction.

If we bring him back without acquiring a top level pass rusher, Bossa? does it give him a big head? You know, enabling him? Leading him down the same path as last year? Bad news if we depend on him and he turns out not to be dependable.

There were a lot of complaints about DLaw's lack of production the first half of the season it resulted in a thread wanting him benched. lol I've looked at all the angles and the best thing for the Cowboys is to move on from Hardy. You can't stay with a player who's missing meetings, causing tension in the locker room and will likely continue being a distraction next season. There may not be a better option on the field than Hardy right now but we need to look down the road not live in the moment. You have to consider the future of your team and Hardy has no future.

I see your point/s but giving Hardy a year contract won't hurt the future of our team. Once again if we do we do, if we don't we don't.

Giving him a year contract could negatively affect our season next year. I'm not trying to blame him for us going 4-12 but his antics and lack of production from being in poor physical condition due reportedly partying didn't help. He'll just hinder the progress of a young player we could be developing for the future. The Cowboys aren't going to be SB contenders in 2016 they're going to struggle to win 9 games with or without Hardy due to all the holes the team has defensively and having an aging QB who can't stay healthy. If you're going to sign a volatile player like Hardy for a year you need a real good team that's on the brink that's being led by a solid head coach who isn't going to take any ****. The reason Jerry signed Hardy was because he thought he had a real good team that was on the brink and a pass rush would put the Cowboys over the top. It was the lack of a pass rush that got us knocked off in the playoffs in 2014 so Jerry felt signing Hardy would be worth the backlash he would bring. After a 4-12 season that saw only 6 sacks from him he's no longer worth the backlash, headache and potential problems he could bring in 2016.

Bringing back Hardy would set a bad example for the team especially the young players. It would send a message that it's okay to be late for meetings, party, be of low character, create tension in the locker room and be disruptive as long as you're also disruptive on the field. We've been taken advantage of by players like Hardy and Gregory who slapped us in the face after giving them an opportunity when everyone else was passing them up. Both players have made the Cowboys look foolish! I'll repeat what I said in a previous post MARK MY WORDS if the Cowboys get desperate enough to bring Hardy back he'll end up pushing them over the edge and they'll be forced to cut him during the season. It would be beyond stupid to bring back a player who only contributed to 2 wins in 12 games and who's antics drew more attention than their play on the field.

It's not like he's going to show up next season and decide to behave himself. Garrett's job is going to be on the line in 2016 he can't take the chance of having a player on the team who could disrupt the season. Part of the reason why the 2015 season went down the drain was counting on a few players who let us down. Randle was dealing with off the field issues prior to last season and had to be released during the season due to more the field issues forcing us to throw away a 7th round pick on a back who only saw a few carries. After touting Weeden all summer he had to be released during the season due to ineffective play causing us to throw away another 7th round pick on a QB who ended up being no better than him. Bringing back Hardy would be a MISTAKE and it's a mistake I don't think the Cowboys will make regardless how desperate they are at DE.

Hard to be confident with the draft it's a crapshoot but I would rather take my chances with the draft having a top 5 pick than my chances with a ticking time bomb like Hardy who's antics last season garnered more attention than his play on the field. If the Cowboys get desperate enough to bring him back for another season MARK MY WORDS we'll log into this board at some point during the season and see "BREAKING NEWS: Hardy released." You would have thought after all he went through with a domestic violence charge and a lengthy suspension that cost him millions he would have taken full advantage of the opportunity the Cowboys gave him doing everything possible to try and repair his image but that didn't happen. He started trouble before he ever stepped on the field with insensitive 911 comments on Twitter that visibly angered Jerry and Garrett. On more than one occasion last season Garrett said he had a talk with Hardy about his behavior.

He's not a good influence on young players or the rest of his teammates that soured on him because the team was afraid to punish him for some of his transgressions last season. Jerry didn't want him punished or released because it would have made it look like signing Hardy was a mistake. It would have confirmed all the things that were floating around so the team wanted to play it down. Jerry always thinks he can reform troubled players. The Cowboys knew Randle had issues and didn't even know until late in the summer that he wouldn't be facing a suspension but they stuck with him and he became a casualty during the season when his problems continued. The Cowboys already look dysfunctional enough you don't build championship teams with bad character players who start trouble and bring tension to you locker room. One thing that's been very clear with Jerry when he gives a troubled player an opportunity and they start any trouble during a disappointing season they're gone!

Pacman was one and done with the Cowboys after the 08 season that ended in disappointment. Jerry stuck with TO until he started his crap at the end of the 08 season that distracted the team. Despite TO being very productive and the Cowboys having what appeared to be a weak WR corp without him he was released. The Cowboys ended up having their best season in years the following year without him or Pacman. The negatives we saw with Hardy last season far out weighed any of the positives he brought. Teams are avoiding him for a good reason he's a distraction that brings problems that could fracture a locker room. He was accused of a despicable crime against a woman in which there was enough evidence to convict him and the Cowboys were the only ones foolish enough to sign him and have him represent their franchise. He only helped us to to 2 wins in 12 games he's not worth the headache and trouble he'll cause next season.

When a contract is signed, the player agrees to fulfill it 100%.
He certainly expects to get paid every dime of the agreed-upon payment for services.

So, just like any other business, if someone is hired who can't or won't perform up to his contract, there needs to be a renegotiation or a termination.
If not, then the employee is just being allowed to steal.
And if this situation is condoned, then it's fair for everyone else to do the same.

None of us would tolerate that kind of dysfunction in our own businesses, and the Cowboy FO shouldn't either.

First of all, Hardy got injured in week 8 on his right leg and had shin issues, around week 12.

Second, Ware was not at all that great last year, and pretty much played well in the second half of the SB, and that too because he was in Wade's defense... And he had Von Miller blowing up the whole other side, with CBs sticking their men, and LBs flying all over the place. Even Von Millers game went to another level with Wade, let alone the SB when he was a beast.
Ware tallied only 17 TACKLES the whole season and had 7.5 sacks in 11 games.

The year prior his total tackles in a whole season were pretty much right there with his last two years in Dallas at 37 in a full season.

And he wasn't impressive here with guys like Kiffen..

Third, Hardy's effort on the field, meaning practically, far exceeded many of the bums on the squad up front. What people go by in rumors, clearly wasn't seen on the field practically. Other guys supposedly practiced, but couldn't even sniff the QB.

Hardy with Wade in Denver would be different then Hardy in Valley Ranch...

Hardy getting injured in week 8 and week 12 doesn't excuse him for being late for meetings, partying and creating tension in the locker room. Those injuries were likely a result in him being in poor condition due to all the partying he reportedly did. You're the only one bringing up those injuries as you search for excuses why he didn't live up to expectations. Stop making excuses for him when Ware played hurt for most of the 2013 season and got no sympathy. He was accused of being done. LOL Stop knocking Ware and what he accomplished in Denver while trying to prop Hardy who's antics got more press than his play on the field. See how many situational pass rushers you can name who've put up 17.5 regular season sacks the past 2 seasons.

Ware was one of the reasons the Broncos had the #1 defense and won the SB. Von Miller's 11.0 sacks was the lowest of his career in which he played almost every game but no one is complaining in Denver because he's not being asked to put up 19.0 sacks like Ware was asked to do in Dallas due to the lack of help around him. Ware had 11.5 sacks in 2012 and most on this board were complaining that he was in decline. He was having to do it all as he faced double teams every week.

If Ware only put up 25 sacks in his last 2 seasons in Dallas like Miller has in Denver the last couple of years most here would be complaining that he's finished. Anything short of 15 sacks got Ware criticized. In the role Denver has for Ware he's been excellent so stop trying to tear his game down. Hardy isn't worthy of carrying Ware's jock. Ware is one of the most respected players in the league he'll be in the HOF while Hardy is stuck in the Hall of Shame.

We have released the Kraken.
