Reaction: you don't know squat about the game of football if you think golf has anything to do with this team's December struggles. I wish you'd learn something about the game and how many players play golf. Let's take a look at the recent Super Bowl winning QBs.

If you want I can find Roger and Troy too. Name the QB and I can probably destroy your stupid stance on Tony Romo and golf.

yes JVita, I go fishing, video games, 42, dallas cowboys stuff, report stuff to a sports writer, run and direct church cameras at our church, and i post stuff here on this board. Right now I am in round 3 in a dallas cowboys fan promotion to hopefully win to get to go to training camp for a media pass. I have 2 rounds to go in that contest if i make it that far.

But when I work, i dont let anything interere with my work or drain me of energy for doing my job.
I was raised old fashioned, you give 150 percent to your work, do the very best you can.

And yes to hostile's remark, I have spasmodic dysphonia, which affects my voice, etc. But I do the best i can.

tom landry would have won more super bowls but he golfed in the off-season.

roger staubach would have won more super bowls but he played ping-pong
during training camp.

troy aikman would have won more super bowls but he dated lorrie morgan.

jimmy johnson would have won more super bowls but he drank beer and fished.

i would have won a super bowl but i was too lazy to work out, too slow, too weak and not talented enough.

only one of the above statements is true.

lol. Excellent post.

Unless he's playing golf, during a game, then it doesn't effect his job. Him playing golf during the offseason has nothing, at all, to do with what happens on a football field in December.

did Romo play in any bowl games in college?
I think in Div 1AA they have a tournament to decide the champion, i don't think they go to bowl games but i could be wrong. The three years Tony started for Easter Ill. they got beat every time in the first round of the tourney. 2000 they lost to Montana 45-13, 2001 they lost to Northern Iowa 49-43 and in 2002 they lost to Western Ill. 48-9.

Joe didn't say those things (this time)... He just copied and pasted that post from somewhere. The MKRob guy is the one who said it.

Not all of it. Joe said this...

This is exactly how I felt during the playoffs when he and Jason Witten took their significant others out of the country during the NFL Playoffs. He should be FOCUSED on this year.

He should be watching film, studying the playbook, working out, running, throwing passes to Jason Witten, Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin.

I’m done with this post, I could go on and on. But I do have one question for my fellow Cowboys fans and other football fans as well.

Do you think Romo should be playing amateur golf during the offseason rather than doing the things that I said in this post???

Unless he hacked MKRob's site, no he didn't. Did you click the link?

What a total waste of time reading this piece of crap post. Get a life. If you think no other QBs in the league play golf (and they don't play as well as Romo does, mind you), then you're just totally nieve and ignorant.

Are you Nick Lachey? What do you have against Romo?

what i was trying to say when ota's and mini camp was up, those days romo shouldnt be trying to do golf, now days that he isnt doing otas or mini camp, those are his free days;

say for instance, he makes a golf tournament, then drives or hurries back to valley ranch to do a OTA, thats what i object too, that he is spreading himself thin

and not concenetrating on one sports, but he is focusing his energy on 2 sports tiers; thats what i object too, and at same time, when i found out that he did win a playoff game in high school. 2 playoff games his junior year in high school and a golf tournament championship, then i posted that i was wrong about that;

just like someone that told me there is no way the cowboys will draft 11 to 14 players in the draft this year, but they drafted 12, when i am wrong, i admit it, so then i can move on;

now at the same time, with romo winning a golf tournament, and having won 2 high school playoff games. Along with his NEW attitude of staying in shape all year round, and focusing on proctecting the ball more. I think romo is finally getting it. I dont have a problem with a player playing golf or anything else after he has won some championships, until then, his days of ota's and mini camps, training camp and football season from end of july to december or january, his energy should be on football totally nothing else. Win those championships first! Then you can go play or do whatever you want. But as long as your paid 67 million for like 5 years, then you should be totally concentrating totally on chammpionships in football.

for instance say you were the owner and you paid your star qb 67 million for 5 years to lead your team to championships. But you find out your star qb is doing 2 jobs so to speak, he is playing football and playing golf. Would you be happy with that as a owner? Would you put up with that, after you paid him that kind of money. Its just like jimmy johnson said when he took over the cowboys in 89, jimmy said he didnt get a vacation or break for like 2 years. Jimmy spent his time totally on football. Aikman spent his time during otas and mini camp, etc totally on football. In fact aikman would get upset at sloppy football, not practiced right. Your star qb has to be the leader of the team, to me, but when he is doing 2 sports, then to me during football times, that is wrong. Just the way i feel.

I do feel romo is growing up though, and seeing the need for leadership as the star qb, etc, and he is taking a more serious approach.

SO how does Romo not put 150% into football? Just because he fumbles alot and throws interceptions like thats what he get paid for doesnt mean he doesnt give a 150% in it.
