I know he's not very good but he knows our system and players pretty good.

Romo makes this not possible. We can only put one guy on IR with the designation to return. Obviously, that's Tony now

Why would you hang on to a guy that is ready for retirement? He would make a better coach than a player now.

Besides...Moore is a quick healer. People are gonna be shocked how quickly he's gonna be back.

He goes on the IR for the season or he takes an injury settlement and that means he could return 6 weeks after the settlement period as a FA if unclaimed

For example he reaches an injury settlement for 3 weeks pay.....that means DAL pays him for 3 weeks but he is immediately released.....he can sign with another team immediately or he can return to DAL in 9 weeks......the original 3 week period + 6 weeks to prevent abuse

Why would he take that? Gee. We can pay you the whole time or pay you three weeks. No one is going to sign you because you've got a broken ankle but hey, maybe you can be back here in Week 9!

First I said for example since I am not privy to his medical records....if he is due back Week12 he might just take the full season IR...but he might also be on a split contract that pay less than 1/2 for time on the IR.....if he wants to play he might take a 3-6 week settlement and retain a chance to play this year for anyone, not just Dallas.....I don't know everything like you, so sometimes I use hypotheticals

He's not a rookie UDFA. He's not going to have a split contract.

Wake up to reality. Also, use your mentality

Split contracts aren't just for rookies......unproven vets get them too...especially guys like Moore looking for any chance
