Because him running the offense changing the plays wasn’t good enough. Need someone better.
I disagree I think the offense was good enough and we struggled in other aspects of the game. But to each their own

In all seriousness now great defenses like the ones led by Ray Lewis baited Tony into changing the plays to what they wanted to defend .

I would submit that is wasn't the play calls that were the problem for the most part, it was execution. Romo's last game ints hurt on several occasions...

Wow, guess that means it doesn't matter who is our qb. They all suck according to you.

No the quarterbacks don't all suck, but it doesn't matter. The play calling kills any chance this team has to make a SB run, unless they get a Brady or Rodgers or such and let him call the plays, which Jason will never let happen...

I was listening to Ben and Skin yesterday and they brought up something I have yet to hear. Linehan and Garrett were ecstatic that Dak took the reins when Romo got hurt. They were tired of Romo checking out of their plays and wanted nothing more than full control and to implement their offense how they envisioned it. They couldn’t do that with Romo in. Well they got their wish.

Well that's very interesting, I guess we can see how have the results been.

Romo's last full year, 2014 averaged 28.4 points per game. 2015 was 17.2 (Weeden/Cassel). 2016 (Daks rookie year, with coach Romo in his ear) 26.6. 2017 22.2 and this year so far...13.7

Looks like 2016 was the magic, no Romo year, that we actually did ok.

I think this is just a little piece of gossip to suck in listeners, which is what today's tabloid sports (and other) journalism does. Obviously it works. Checking out of plays wasn't unique to Romo in Dallas. All quality NFL QBs do that.

Audibling out may or may not help. Dak aside, we don't have a WR/TE that a defense respects. They know they can cover any of them 1on1, there's no fear of being burned or beat, even if Dak could hit him. That's a tremendous advantage for a defense, that in effect gives them an extra defender to deploy however they want and easier to make adjustments.

he doesn't need to audible to kill a play when he just does it anyway with his skill (or lack thereof)

:lmao:

Regardless of whether one is a Dak fan or not, everyone should appreciate humor. There's enough seriousness on here and in life - thanks for the chuckle.

That was just a Romo thing . He was giving us all a heads up on what he was about to do to our hopes and dreams

It's sad your hatred consumes you this way. You might want to talk to someone about it.

I disagree on the tabloid sports where it relates to those two. There’s not a more plugged in group of people in the metroplex when it comes to getting insight into the teams.

From what I've seen it varies wildly when Dak can change things and when he can't. On most of the weird stuff I think it's forced on him/them. At other times he seems to have a free hand. What bugs me most is the lack of automatics - which usually means a slant to open space or play-action-deep when you have 1 on 1 outside with an advantage - why not now?

it's weird stuff

can't get the ATL game out of my head - HC / OC / OLC all went utterly brain lock - after sack #3 Dak should have took the initiative
