When Rush leads us to multiple losses, what then?

If we win I will be happy we won and have a good week. If we lose I will go to tankathon and see how our draft position changed. This year I am looking for the positive any way I can. Life is too short to be miserable. My expectations are so low that I am not feeling the normal sting of a loss each week.

I think I’d be more disappointed if we win unless it means we go on a winning streak and make the playoffs.

What I realize is this one of many weekly backdoor apology threads. The reality is this team should worried about draft position. Dak is not the biggest problem here. He is merely a symptom of the biggest problem which is Jerry. Anybody with a clue knew re signing him was insanity but unfortunately Jerry and Stevie after 30 years are poor talent evaluators. So we are stuck with a midling QB taking up a quarter of the salary cap until they find a way to move off him. I mean Daniel Jones is the best QB on the Giants roster, right? You think the Gnat fans are happy about that?

To answer the OP, you bring the whole sorry coaching staff back and say McCarthy and company deserve more time because of injuries.
Say about a 3 to 4 year extension for McCarthy and staff.

Not “this team.” He led the 2022 team to 4-1 which was a MUCH better team than this team. Rush also won a game in 2021 which again was a MUCH better team than this one.

Rush isn't paid 60million dollars this year. I give grace to a guy making 2 million vs one making 60. There isn't a 58 million dollar difference between the 2.

The games ahead are going to be tough, and it doesn't matter who's playing QB. This roster was DOA this season. Can't run the ball, can't stop the run, can't protect the QB, limited options to throw to, McCarthy, still being employed in Dallas. It isn't hard to point to Dak and label him part of the problem, and also acknowledge that there are various issues with this team, and they all stem from the frail ego of Jerral Jones. I'm not sure we have to worry about tanking, because I'm not convinced this team will win more than a game or two the rest of the way.

Exactly. That’s why overpaying Dak was the wrong decision. Even Mahomes wouldn’t save this roster - which is also why I’m of the opinion that solely blaming Dak for the Cowboys’ failures is asinine.

Again, we need this season to absolutely tank so we can find a QB in the draft like the UT guys.

If the Cowboys are smart you play both Rush and Lance just like Houston did when they almost beat us two years ago. Sadly the Cowboys coaching staff is not that sophisticated to keep the Eagles off balance.
