He can play as long as he wants, at the very least he'll be a very effective blocker, kind of like Heath Miller. But we need somebody who can make some plays in the passing game soon. Whether that's Escobar, Swaim, who knows.

Yes, If Witten wants to play until he is 65, he should get to play until he is 65. I would hate to put the team first over Witten's interests. He has earned that right. Hell, let's keep him around until he is 72, or so, since that is approximately the social security retirement age now. Better yet, why stop there? Prop him up with a stick after he is dead and put some velcro on his gloves. If we throw it to him enough times he might catch one after death. Wouldn't that be an interesting record? One pass caught by a dead man!!

10.9 (Really, this is what we are nitpicking?) and 11.1. He had injury problems in 2014 not to mention a constant change in QBs. Either way, this guy had over 900 yards receiving, nearly 90 catches, and double digit TDs.

If we are going to nitpick, let's talk about how terrible Witten is in the red zone.

It isn't nitpicking. You claimed he was a big play tight end. Big play tight ends don't average less than 11 yards per catch. They typically average at least 12. You want to use a constant change in QBs as an excuse for this guy. Did you not watch who was throwing the ball to Witten this season? Witten isn't some huge liability. The guy is consistent and available every game. Replacing him just for the sake of replacing him is a dumb move.
