the biggest cowboys hater in the universe

I LOVE the Cowboys my Father was stationed at Fort Bliss the year they began - he used to see Tom Landry as a kid in the Bronx every morning going into Yankee stadium - I can talk Dallas with ANYONE.

However - I got a bad rap on this board, some deserved some mod induced , some by the Sunshine click...people think I don't like us ....WRONG. I am spoiled by the Glory days, I KNOW what it takes to win - I was highly critcal of Parcells , Campo, etc Clowns who should have never worn the Star on their sleeve. That made me sick - I am a protector of our legacy, a defender of our success , but I have high standards.
IMO, the last decade is unacceptable, it's beneath Cowboy tradition. I also am outspoken about it and that rubs people the wrong way.
And I say too bad.

We never had a chance. Our season ended earlier that day when the Commanders clinched.

Nonetheless, it disheartened me how we made Jamie Martin and that Cason guy(forgot his first name, he played for us once) look like Joe Montana and Emmitt Smith out there. And we made Leonard Little look like Lawrence Taylor to boot.:(

With Steve Jackson and Fahkir Brown out we should be good to go. This is a trap game.

If this is going to be a GREAT team we need to go in and blow their doors out. Close game to loss is a set back.

we've laid the wood on them plenty of times...several times in the playoffs...this was a tremendous rivalry in the 70's

1973- we knocked off a 12-2 Rams team in the 1st rd of the playoffs

1975- the first playoffs I remember watching...we became the first wildcard team to ever go to the Super Bowl...blasted the Rams 37-7 in LA...Preston Pearson and Staubach had field days

1978-- we avenge a regular season loss by shutting out a solid Rams team in LA, 28-0

1980-- destroyed the Rams in the first rd of the playoffs 34-13

1990- this wasnt a playoff game, but it was one of those games where you kinda knew we were started to become something good...we went on the road and upset them, started a 4 game winning streak that nearly got us into the playoffs

there's been plenty of good for us in this series

Thinking that this team, which is by far the best we've had since the glory days of the early 90's, is going to play poorly and lose to the 0-3 Rams at home is not a Cowboy fan looking for excellence. It's a guy who is for some reason only looking for negatives from one of the top 5 NFL teams this year, and likely the best one in the NFC.

Being critical of the team when they do poorly... that is wanting excellence.
Being critical when the team is losing... that is wanting excellence.
Being critical when we look like crap... that is wanting excellence.

Saying we're going to tank against a team that we're two touchdown favorites on when we've been playing so good... that is being negative and trollish, IMO.

You can say you remember the glory days and want that all you want to... however, now that you're getting what you want... you're still only looking for negatives.

So I call BS.

No doubt we have the historical edge, but the Rams managed to land a few blows. They dealt us playoff losses in 1979, 1983, and 1985. It was a great rivalry.

WHERE did I say we'd lose???? this is a TRAP game ....we're playing a wounded animal.....Vegas set a big sucker point spread for people to bite....
I'm not saying we'll lose - however you can't expect our offense to fire every week ...right? just like the Rams game I pointed out.
Calm down and put the Kool aid down , take your rose colored cheerleader shades off and use your brain a bit - IMO this is gonna be a dogfight.
Bulger is NO stiff, along with Romo and Warner Bulger is one of 3 to throw for 3500 in his first 12 NFL games. They still have Holt & co. and IMO our secondary is still a MAJOR weak spot.
16-13 Folk wins it....you feel better?

And 1976.

We don't have the Historical edge. Read the primer thread.

We are dead even post season, and 1 game behind head to head in the regular season.

Hadle and Ferragamo were my binkies as a sprouting Husker fan.

Rams got the better of us in that era.

They get their doors blown out this week. Initial trap thoughts are giving way to Rams can't deal with our truth.

40-13

3 out of 5 offensive lineman are out, Jackson is out, Bulger has two broken ribs, they are 0-3 and going on the road. I realize that this is their season, but I just don't think with the make up of this team there will be a let down.

Can I quote you? No pun intended, btw.
