Where are all the inside source poeple that were here last year at this time. There was some real good info. That was what attracted me to this board. You guys really seem to have the scoop. So, where are you.....Brown sugar, Gyphon, etc....... What are you guys hearing about the draft, about Henson, about our Boys. Anyone, anywhere, Wzup!!!!!!!!!!!!

They hooked us up on TO, and Vanderjagt before anyone else knew about it. BP runs a tight ship man I doubt any leaks happen with the draft.

We've had a few scoops this off season.

Ahmed Merritt switched his jersey number from 81 to 86 two days before TO was signed.

The TO was signed rumor from Lubbock.

Keith Davis being signed to an offer by the Saints.

There've been others as well.

I don't see what an inside source would know about the draft -- frankly, at this point there are so many different scenarios on the board that there isn't any one clear direction.

Honestly, I would be very frightened if anyone on a message board knew exactly what we would be doing in the draft. That means we have little to no security and you don't want the other teams to have a clue what you are really doing and thinking.

My brother's girlfriend's coworker's uncle's father-in-law knows someone who passed by Valley Ranch the other day.

He hit us with some tremendous inside news:

- the Cowboys are NOT interested in Lavar Arrington
- the Cowboys are looking to move up to get "that quarterback"
- the Saints are offering their entire draft to aquire Ricky Williams
- Jerry Jones will be running this draft, not Ireland or BP
- the Cowboys are looking to sign Hershel Walker out of retirement in the hopes that Minny will give us 12 more top round players for him
- the Commanders want to trade next year's 1st rounder to aquire a first rounder this year.
- the Commanders are considering trading every 1st rounder they have for the next 10 years to get 10 first rounders this year

Going by what Jerry Jones has said and nothing more at this point.

We will address FS in the Draft, but he doesn't want to do it in round 1.

We'll probably draft a QB to hedge out bets against Henson & Romo not being able to take over when Bledsoe leaves.

The draft has a lot of OL depth. It won't shock me if we get at least 2 guys in this draft for OL. I personally hope they are Gs and C.

We need an OLB because we do not know at this point if Burnett can fill the position for a full year.

We'll draft a WR in this draft. Not in the 1st however.

This is my interpretation of Jerry's commentary this off season. Mine. If others disagree that's cool. I'm not claiming to be 100% right. So far this off season I've done pretty well on the things I "predicted."

I like this.

Looking at the depth in each position - we will go after the best player available when we come up.
Within the confines of what positions we are looking at.
Say we do get a T in the first round and we are looking FS or WR and nothing is there but a top level G. We are there.
If you look at last years draft we have not over reached - Canty may be an exception here - on any pick.
So if we hold true to form from last year we will do well in OL, WR and FS.

Nobody knows what the Cowboys will do during the draft because they don't know yet. I'm sure they have players they are targeting but right now, only the first four or five teams can really focus in on a player because they are picking so high. I mean, maybe Dallas wants Manny Lawson and will trade up with the Browns to get him. Then the Cardinals select Lawson at 10 so he's no longer available. Talking with the people from my team, they make a draft board and if someone they have rated really high starts to fall, they consider trading up to get that player. Otherwise, when you pick later in the draft, you just have to sit back and let the draft come to you. Anyone who says they know who Dallas will draft three minutes before the draft starts is lying. Jerry Jones doesn't even know at that point unless he has something huge in the works like moving up into the top five to draft A.J. Hawk or something crazy like that.

Even though Jerry said that, it could be to keep teams from jumping in front of him in the draft in case someone like "Huff" fell. You never know...

It happens though. I work at the Raider Hotel near the training facility and yesterday I saw AJ Hawk. Im not saying this is going to be the intended target of the Raiders, but you do get a sense of who they like. I was also here when they brought in Aaron Brooks. And he stayed over for a few days, before they nailed down his terms.


I mean I can find out from the front desk who is comming here, just by room reservations and such. A few weeks ago i got a call in from the U of W athletic department saying Ty Willingham was going to be here and he needes and HDVD player for his room. Later on that day I found out that JD Williams signed on to TY's staff.

There is only so much that can be done behind the drape. **** we get whiffs on whats to come(Raiders) before that guy on the NFL network does.

Now if i could get that summer transfer to the Oxnard Residence Inn. Maybe I could ask the DAV(Director of Audio/Visual) if he needs some time off.

I would lose all faith in the braintrust if Keith Davis' situation impacted our draft plans in any manner.

We are counting on Davis to play ST and compete for the FS spot -- nothing more.

He also said no OL in the first round, and no early picks on WR, though a later pick at that position was likely... and he hinted that if the right CB fell to pick 18, they'd grab him...

Then again, it's only this week that the staff has assembled to get serious about putting their draft board together, so those were obviously preliminary opinions on his part... I factored them in to my draft analysis, but would not be surprised at all if the Boys deviated from that script...
