Reports are there was drug use all over that boat. OBJ got ONE softball question about the whole thing at his PC and ESPN talking heads are all staying on message that this was not a big deal. The double standard is crazy to me.

They don't test during the season if you're not in the drug program. That's why it is so impossibly hard to believe how many bozos get popped in the NFL. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Randy.

I'm pretty sure a private company can drug test any of their employees at any time.

Also, I can tell OBJ is stoned in that pic. Dude can't open his eyes
I've been pretty inebriated and not been able to open my eyes. Just saying. Plus he plays for the Giants. I can't remember the last time a player from that team was suspended for doping or drug use.

It's been said by many folks that ESPN upper mgt in house are all Giants fans. Makes sense being in CT to a degree. That being said, I've always believed that's why The Gmen are never picked apart and we always are. Obviously discussion on Cowboys fuels ratings, but they seem to protect the Giants. Imagine ESPN if the same photo swapped the OBJ, Cruz, and Shep with Dez, TWill, and Bease.

Players aren't tested during the season unless they're in the drug protocol program. I think that's the rule.

It's hard to say they're high from a picture. Drunk looks fairly similar. There was video of Odell drinking from a bottle. Plus he may tired after a night of partying.

I understand it's the "enemy" but my stance is as long as they do whatever they do within the rules, I see no issue with it. There are certain periods where players know not to use certain things or else they risk getting suspended and they also know that once they get caught one time, they enter a much more stringent testing process from then on.

It's the players like Gregory who can't help themselves (reasons can be debated) that end up in the more stringent system very early in their careers that get the worst of it. In that way, the system is really setup to kick those players out of the league and that's my issue with the testing process. I do not like the idea that they test some people more often than others. A 22 year old (kid) rookie is more likely to screw up and get in the more stringent program than a 28 year old veteran player.

Imagine when you were in school if you failed a class test and from then on the teacher said, "Since you failed a test with me, the school will grade each of your tests a lot more thoroughly and stringently from now on." I view the drug testing system in the NFL the same way. If anything, I think players should get a reset after 2 seasons have passed since their last failed test.

I didn't realize that. To be honest it seems like the NFL has their priorities bass ackwards.

To me it seems logical to administer random drug tests during the season while they're actually working, and leave them alone during the offseason when they are free to do whatever.

Could you imagine if your employer asked you for drug tests only during your vacation, and you were free to get high at the office? lol.

Not a big deal

You can attend parties where others are using and you abstain. Hell, I've been to plenty of parties where there was drug use that I didn't even know about until the next day.

Hell I've been to thousands of parties.

Maybe 10s of thousands, even.

What I'm saying is that I get invited to a lot of parties.

More than Odell.

Because I'm cool.

To be fair he is looking almost straight into the sun. Just pointing that out. He could very well be baked.

Way back in high school the school called my parents over concerns that I was exhibiting signs of drug use.

My eyes were red and watery and they felt I was sometimes acting "lethargic".

Both of which were true. This was in May/June. The red watery eyes were a result of the pollen allergies and the lethargy from the legal drugs I sometimes had to take to deal with it.

Also, the drug testing thing is state by state. In this state drug testing can only be done as a condition of employment OR if enough probable cause can be shown. Random tests without probable cause are not allowed. There are some exceptions for certain jobs. Even the federal government has to follow the laws of the state the job is located in. I have an interview for a federal job next week.
