instead of complaining about how the 06 season is already over or how we're not doing enough..lets discuss what we CAN do now. if we get ty law for our FS, T.O. as our playmaker, vinatieri and a vet LB like julian peterson or ayodele from JAX, we'll be fine. if we could only sign 4 players for free agency not including kosiar, who would u choose?

1. Ty Law
2. T.O.
3. Julian Peterson
4. Vinatieri

enough with the move Law to FS position changes bs.
Yeah, I'd rather have Law as a corner and move Henry to free safety. That way he'd have more time to watch receivers run by him.....

I have to admit that where there is smoke there is fire. So seeing TO coming to Dallas is becoming more believable day by day.
However until that day comes I am hoping we do not get this guy.
My top FA's.
Chris Hope-FS
Viniatieri-K
Sowell-FB
Fabini-OT
Not really sure I want Fabini either.
I wish we could see Columbo come back full circle from his injury.
Draft an OT in the draft and let Pettiti, draft pick and Columbo battle it out for a starting tackle position. It would create depth at a position that was really thin last year too.
Even if we get a FA FS which I seriously doubt we do now, I still think we need to draft one also.
The ideal situation...
Vet starter at FS,OT and NT with draft picks backing them up at the beginning of next season.

1. Ty Law - no but thanks for all the fish
2. T.O. - no I am feeling much better with out you
3. Julian Peterson - could be game or maybe not, a gamble
4. Vinatieri - sure, why not

We lost out on the best lineman in Bentley(to the BROWNS!), don't tell me about our utility lineman. OK he is functional across the line but we needed punch and we got cool aid IMO.

All the free safety prospects are still out there -- Hope, Coleman, Law and Milloy (if you consider Law and Milloy free safety prospects).

At tackle, the candidates seem to still be out there, as well -- including Fabini.

Sowald is still available at fullback.

Peterson, and for that matter, Ayodele are available at linebacker, as is McGinest.

Vinatieri is still available at kicker.

I really don't think too many of the guys we have targeted have been signed. Arrington was a little bit of a pipe dream for me, as was Bentley; with the exception of kicker, where Longwell and Bryant are gone, everyone I had pegged are pretty much still available.

Of the players signed so far, the only one I really wish we had acquired was Bentley.

I liked a few of the others, but can't say I had to have any of them.

Did Fabini fail his physical? I thought he'd be signee #1.

If this team were to only make two moves in FA, Vinatieri and Peterson, I would call that a success. But this team cannot afford to go into FA and come out with backups.

I agree with you on Fabini.....with the way our tackles played last year.....and his knowledge of BP......I would have bet the ranch he would be signed by yesterday!:starspin

Fabini probably wants top money and Dallas isn't going to pay him that right now.

So I expect they let him get other offers and see if they want to match it.

That's probably not dead.

Also, you never know what they are thinking about with OL and the draft.

Maybe with the Kosier signing, a signal is being sent that OT and G is moving up the priority list and there is good value in the draft to get a player or 2 that can start or split time on the OL with our present vets.

Fabini is another over-30 guy that I'd really rather not see us commit to initially.

Other than a game-changer like TO who is over 30, I'm hoping we stay with younger, proven players like a Henry and not keep making this team older by the day.

Especially on offense.

We need youth, desire and talent on the offensive side of the ball. If we can't have all 3, then I'll take desire and talent.

But I think, and also hope, that Dallas is trying to keep all three factors in play before they hand out all the big money.

And most of the big names in FA are over 30 and lack one of those important ingredients.

In the second tier of FA's, there is still alot of players with all three qualities and won't cost as much.

We'll see.
