No worries. Brandon Jacobs will face Adalius Thomas December 29th and I'm sure he will be able to tell us about Thomas after that.

IMO, Thomas is very good against the run and can cover. He also has very good pass rushing skills. (that have really started to come on of late) What he doesn't have is dominating natural pass rush ability that Ware has. Without a doubt, Ware is a more dominating pass rusher than Thomas.

Thomas is a better all-around player than Merriman. Ware is a better all-round player than Thomas.

Now, Merriman in Wade Phillips defense didn't have to be great at coverage because he was a pass rushing specialist. The question is, how will he be used this coming season? The Chargers would be fools if they changed the overall defensive style because that is what the current defense was built around. It's like Phillips says, he doesn't design a mathematically sound defense and ask his players to play it. He designs his defense around his players.

Top-Ten Talent at the Position, ahead of Merriman because of Ware's ability to cover the run and anticipate the run better; Merriman basically exclusively rushes the passer. Adalius Thomas is better than Ware because he can play any position on the defense basically. And I would put Jason Taylor ahead of Ware also.

Outside of that I don't have many other 3-4 linebackers that are as good as Ware in terms of pass-rushing ability.

So of the 3 things a LB has to do Ware is better then Merriman at two of them. Case closed. Thomas RIGHT now I would put ahead of Ware.

Taylor is more a 4-3 DE, than a 3-4 OLB. And i don't remember Miami being in the 3-4, unless i dont watch any Miami football

Rushing the QB is the most important thing for us...at least that's what you hear moaned every week around here...so I'll take the best pass rusher and forgive him if he doesn't cover backs out of the backfield well.

demarcus ware and terence newman are my two favorite players on this team.

they both play the game like it is supposed to be played.

to answer your question...i think demarcus ware this year will prove to be the best in the business.
