It's still too early yet. I had him about 13-15 before the season. Looking at the list above I think your top 5 is on the money. Hard to figure Big Ben because he's injured. Looking at the rest maybe I'd put Rivers higher but as of how the season is going I think Dak is either better or playing just as well as the rest.

The most interesting thing about your list is where Goff and Wentz are ranked, relative to Dak. You have to be trolling.

Statisically? He's #1 through two weeks.

In terms of a trade or where he ranks overall in the pecking order of QBs? Depends. Would I take him over Brees (well before injuring his thumb), I'd probably take Brees for a season but Dak for long term. Wilson? Sure for a year but I could be persuaded long term, Dak is the better option.

I can see how someone could rank Goff ahead of Dak (even though I don't), but **** Wentz?

Personally, I'd have him #8 after Brady, Mahomes, Brees, Rodgers, Wilson, Rivers, and Ben.

    They’re in year 4 now.

Dak was out-producing and winning more than Wentz over the course of their careers, EVEN BEFORE this season began.

It’s time to stop pretending Wentz is magically better than Dak simply because of their 2016 draft status. That ship is sailing away. Even the national media is catching on to reality.

“Potential is nothing. Production is everything.”

It's not just their draft status. Wentz's 2017 (until he got hurt) was much much better than Dak's. His performance was much better for the first half of last season (ignoring the difference in talent surrounding him). If he can stop getting hurt and turn back into that guy, it's still an open question about who will have the better career. But those are big ifs.

It’s only an “open question” because we’re in year 4 and not year 10. There is zero question about who the better and more productive QB has been through 3+ years overall.

You brought up 2017... okay, cool. Wentz was certainly better than Dak in that 1 year. Then Wentz got hurt and his backup dominated the playoffs and won the Super Bowl with that stacked roster.

What about 2016 when Dak completely outclassed Wentz? That doesn’t count because the cut-off is 2017 for some reason?

What about 2018? Dak went 10-6 (swept Wentz’s Eagles) with a playoff win, Wentz went 5-6... then Nick Foles went 4-1 with a playoff win.

How about that offseason report in which Eagles teammates ripped Wentz to shreds for his lack of leadership, while simultaneously praising Foles for his strong leadership? Do intangibles not count? You will NEVER see a report like that about Dak’s teammates feeling that way about him.

    Overall record? Advantage Dak.

    Overall stats? Advantage Dak.

    Clutch play? Dak.

    Intangibles/leadership? Dak.

    Durability? Dak.

2017 season ONLY and draft status???? WENTZ BABY!!!!

Goff is too high, million dollar ability with a 10 cent head and Wentz is too fragile.

Well, sure, in year 10 we'll know. But as you say, it's only year 4. I'll skip through most of it and just note that you agree that it's not just based on draft position, which was your original argument. So that's good.

I put no stock in QB winning percentage. It's a team sport, and we can evaluate QB performance perfectly fine without confusing it with other stuff. I also put no stock in media reports on locker room whining. Intangibles don't count for much, and to the extent that they do, we have no legitimate way to evaluate them. Performance is what matters.

At his best, Wentz is a top-tier QB. We've seen it. At his best, Dak is a top-tier QB. We've seen it. Their careers have a long way to go. Personally, I'd bet on Dak because of durability. But I'm not as certain about that answer (or as committed to it) as you seem to be.

Oh, so the supporting cast argument only works 1 way, when it benefits Wentz. Got it.

In 2017, which team was more stacked? Dallas or the Philly team that still won the Super Bowl after Wentz got hurt?

    Consider this:

People are debating Dak vs Wentz, right? It’s a debate that pundits, fans, ex-players and coaches etc. are split on overall. If there were a national poll conducted today, it’d be close.

Now compare their resumes, records, stats, intangibles, etc... while pretending for just 1 second that Dak was the #2 overall pick and Wentz was the 4th rounder.

Would there be ANY DEBATE WHATSOEVER as to who the better QB has been???

Ask this question at the end of the season, we're just now getting used to Dak's new-found throwing motion, footwork, accuracy and timing. I'm thrilled that it's finally happening,,, he might be tied with Wilson at #5.
