Dez is a real talent.

But until he learns all the WR positions and routes, his current upside is more limited than what it should be.

You have some screaming "why don't we go to him like Detroit goes to Calvin"? Well Calvin lined up in all three position all over the field, thus making it far easier to if find a way to get him the ball.

Once Dez can operate at that level, he will be totally dominant. He's not there yet.

He's right after Megatron in my book. But if he can't keep his emotions in check, he'll be falling in my book.

He has no dog in him like Dez and Julio have. Joe Haden got in his behind often with no help and he was still getting targeted to no avail. You disrespect Dez and Juluo with no help and the ball actually comes there way it's more often than not over. Dallas had no issue vs AJ last year.

Dez is a top 5 WR in this legue no question. Nothing wrong with that.

I believe that Dez, Julio, and AJ are all very close for 2nd 3rd and 4th. A case for Marshall and Andre Johnson could also be made. It's difficult to evaluate Thomas because of the personnel surrounding him.
As far as those first 3 I listed, I feel like Julio is the best deep threat of them, he's just flat out fast. Dez is the best jump ball guy, especially in the red zone. AJ is just so crisp and controlled in his routes, he's similar to Andre Johnson in that he just creates a ton of separation. If Dez can fix the drops and improve his route running even a little bit, I believe he can be a clear #2 and eventually move up to 1 when CJ slows down.

So basically, you just pulled it out of your behind? Dez catches more TDs, but he is outclassed by AJ Green in every category that matters. Dez has a lot of upside, but I think it is laughable to say he is #2 behind Calvin Johnson right now.

Sadly Dez is regressing, and although he is a top 5 talent, he's a bottom 5 team mate. I was one of his biggest supporters, but he has become a me, me, me player like TO.

The guy is averaging 80 yards a game and less than a TD a game. I guess in your world that's elite? Or are you too dumb to get the point?

Dez routinely makes 3rd and short catches.

I believe he is the best at it this season. Dez was my #1 WR until Calvin returned to Megatron status with the 300+ yard game he put on us.

I love dez...and he's really really good, but having lived with a bengals fan for 2 years I watched alot of AJ Green last season, dude is unreal. If he had romo as his QB....could possibly be 1b under Megatron...ok maybe he's not that good, but he's upthere.

When dez is fully motivated, he unstoppable...but I think he wavers in and out of being fully motivated throughout the game. He knows he wont get the ball everytime because defense will key on him as the main target, but at the same time, my mans Tony has a tendency to look at witten more than not, which takes away from his touches. That being said, dez has top 3 physical tools, top 3 skills, minus the drops, and top tier production....so he's up there. He's neck and neck with the best.

Yeah.... 200 yards, 3 TDs at the half. Like I said it was QB play mate...

Yeah - - how many TD's did AJ have going into tonights' game? Answer: none. - - Pretty lame by any standard.

Dez is on pace for roughly 1200 yards and 14 TDs. Very good numbers.

I think the point I would make it he has the potential for such better production. Yes, I know he has to prove it on the field and until then i might rank him lower on the Top 5 WRs in the NFL ranking than #2, but heck, its still Top 5.

OK..nothing is wrong with me..but..I do have to admit I let emotions of the game cloud my judgement. That is usually not like me, and I wanted to come here first thing this morning and try and explain my thoughts.

I don't think Dez is TO, and I do sometimes forget the kid is only 25. You are correct about Dez and his teammates seemingly having a great relationship. I went back and found a quote from Romo saying something about he could play with more guys like Dez. TO had a polarizing effect on a team. He had a way of pitting players against players. Dez is just a passionate guy who knows the team can do better.

Continuing my mistakes I talked of Dez's production. It's hard to defend Romo for not being able to throw the ball deep because of lack of time to throw and then call out Dez because he is open, and Romo doesn't have time to find him....but I did.

All in all, I was pretty much wrong on the entire post, and will work to put more thought into a post in the future.

Yesterday was not my best day. I think Dez led the league last year in TD receptions and is tied for the lead this season. Very good numbers indeed..My bad..

Calvin - top dog

AJ Green, Dez, Julio - young and rising superstars

Marshall, Fitz, Andre Johnson - older superstars

Demarius Thomas - not quite on the aj, dez, Julio level because he's not as natural a pass catcher but he's right there

That's my top 8 and dez is closer to top 5 in that group.
