My thought process will likely change but right now I think this is the type of draft that we could pursue.

4: R1P4

S JALEN RAMSEY
FLORIDA STATE
34: R2P3

ILB JAYLON SMITH
NOTRE DAME
67: R3P4

OLB SU'A CRAVENS
USC
102: R4P3

DT CHRIS JONES
MISSISSIPPI ST
137: R4P38

WR LEONTE CARROO
RUTGERS
192: R6P14

RB JOSH FERGUSON
ILLINOIS
212: R6P34

TE JAKE MCGEE
FLORIDA
216: R6P38

OT TYLER MARZ
WISCONSIN
217: R6P39

G ALEX REDMOND
UCLA

I have been on the Jack train but If I thought there was any chance of Jaylon Smith being there in the 2nd then I would be interested in taking Ramsey instead.

Jack and Ramsey are in my opinion the two best options at 4. The good news is we are going to be able to get one of them if that is the direction the team decides to go.

Cravens in the 3rd? Seems unlikely but everywhere I look he seems to be dropping in the prospect rankings. Probably because he is too small to be a LB at the next level. That is fine with me because I want him as a SS.

DT in the 4th - it is hard to pass up some of those elite DT's in the earlier rounds but if we could land a guy like Jones or Ridgeway in the 4th AND fill those other needs then yippeee.

WR - I think there will be good options with our 4th rd comp pick. Not elite WR's like Treadwell obviously but another weapon for Romo to throw too.

RB - I hate to wait this long into the draft to take one but there are other needs.

Then some o-linemen and a TE to develop.

Back up QB through FA.

I'm not sure where he goes 3rd Round or 4th Round but I like the kid from OU at WR Shepherd !!! reminds me of a Steve Smith.

I think I like the 2nd and 3rd round picks more than the first but I am also not one that thinks it's a total mistake to take Ramsey at 4. So I could live with it.

Based on the reports of his rehab, I doubt there's little chance Smith slides into Rd 2 though. So if you want a stud LB in the worst way, you should probably take Jack at 4 and go DBs later in the draft.

This is the direction I have been leaning all along.

Jack at 4 and hope Fuller or Apple or William Jackson III is there at 34.

Jaylon Smith available at 34? Some have him ranked higher and some rankings have him lower than 34. Will he be there? I have no idea but if he was I think he might even be a better fit for us. I think Jack is an elite athlete but Smith might make a better MLB.

I would prefer Ramsey/Jaylon Smith combo to Jack/Artie Burns or other CB that will be there at 34

My mind will likely change several times between now and the draft.

Jaylon Smith ain't falling out the 1st, Cravens ain't falling out the 2nd. He'll he may not even fall out the 1st. I also don't see Chris Jones falling out of 3rd.

People say that about every player but amazingly they can't all go in the 1st. LOL

What rankings have him lower than 34? Almost every mock and draft guide I've seen listed still his him going in the teens to early 20s.

If a rb with a torn ACL can go top 10, then arguably the top linebacker and defensive prospect will go in the 1st. Teams are looking long term not just if they will be ready at start of season. Unless reports come out last minute that his knee is completly ruined he won't drop as much as some think. Then at that point why use a premium pick on him?

Cravens will be different on everyone's board but he is still an incredible athlete, good in coverage, and is a playmaker in both run and pass defense. If he is their at 34 then u thank the football gods.

36OLB JAYLON SMITH - NOTRE DAME

There are probably 55 guys that you could say there is no way he would be there at 34 depending on opinion.

William Jackson III some think he is the best corner in the draft.
Jonathan Joseph some think he is a 1st rounder others have him as a 3rd.
Some think Vernon Butler will be gone in the 1st. Others think he is the 12th best DT.
On and on.

Someone will slide to 34. Jaylon Smith? Maybe, maybe not. We will see. I hope he does.

I agree. I like Cravens a lot. But some people think Joseph is even better and he is ranked by some in the 90's. Cravens would be moving to another position. I would not be opposed to taking him at 34.

I really like joseph. He can play both safety positions which I'm sure teams will love. Cravens will either be a top box safety which I would love or will be used all over the field by a defensive team like Arizona. I can actually see the Cards using their 1st him.

I would hate to see him playing for the cards or Carolina or Denver or some other team that recognized the importance of defense.

I like Joseph too. I like Cravens, Joseph and Cash at SS in that order and I hope one of them is there in the 3rd.

I think we have a Shot at Cash in the 3rd. His lack of coverage ability and him being too small to play linebacker will make him drop. I would love Cash in the 3rd to replace Church in his 2nd season. With our basic defensive scheme, Cash is probably the most likely. Run defense and blitzing is what we mostly use our SS for.

Isn't Ramsey more of a SS when transitioning to the NFL level?

The only reason anyone has Joseph ranked that low is because of the injury. I think he's the best safety in the draft and I love Cravens.

Do you want one @ #4?

I just want our front office to have a plan and execute it. If they feel like they can take advantage of our draft position to grab a potential franchise quarterback at No. 4 (or after trading down) and still improve the team immediately through free agency and our other draft picks, then I'm fine with taking a quarterback there and letting him sit and develop for a couple of years.

If they decide to get an immediate impact player at No. 4 but have another quarterback in mind for Round 2 or later in the draft and then do what it takes to get him, then I'm OK with that, too.
