I'm not sure where he goes 3rd Round or 4th Round but I like the kid from OU at WR Shepherd !!! reminds me of a Steve Smith.

Yep and we desperately need someone like him to upgrade TW. Shepherd is similar to Lockett last year that I desperately wanted us to draft...turned in a pro bowl season in Seattle as a rookie. I think shepherd may be a slightly better WR than Lockett was coming out, Lockett just happened to be a good PR also. Lockett, probably like Shepherd, rocketed up the boards as the draft got closer and I suspect Shepherd winds up going mid to late seconds round, sadly.

Jaylon Smith ain't falling out the 1st, Cravens ain't falling out the 2nd. He'll he may not even fall out the 1st. I also don't see Chris Jones falling out of 3rd.

If smith is healthy he may very well be a top ten pick

I am a Shepard fan, but he is more slightly built than Steve Smith. His productivity says he should be drafted high, but his measurables may drive him down in the draft.

It's not about what the Fans want, it's about trying to see what Jerry and Co. are going to do.

"They" like Romo and a Vet backup at QB, most likely. "They" think DL has been addressed diligently with Crawford, Gregory and Lawrence. The OLine is set, at least with a healthy group it can hold at RT for 2016. Remember the "We are closer than we think" comments.

Ask yourselves not, what you would do for your Cowboys, but what your Cowboys are going to do to you.

I just want our front office to have a plan and execute it. If they feel like they can take advantage of our draft position to grab a potential franchise quarterback at No. 4 (or after trading down) and still improve the team immediately through free agency and our other draft picks, then I'm fine with taking a quarterback there and letting him sit and develop for a couple of years.

If they decide to get an immediate impact player at No. 4 but have another quarterback in mind for Round 2 or later in the draft and then do what it takes to get him, then I'm OK with that, too.

Can't see any of the 2nd tier QB's being close to BPA when we pick early in the 2nd round. Wanting a QB in this draft, passing on the top 3 and then taking a 2nd tier one in the 2nd would be a huge mistake imo. If we pass in the 1st, then I would prefer waiting til the 3rd-5th round. Draft is way too deep at other positions, especially DL to take a so-so QB in the 2nd.

If they target a specific quarterback, I don't care if he's the BPA, as long as we're not taking him much too high. Lynch (if he falls) and Cook would be potential targets in Round 2. Both of them have first-round skills and could develop behind Romo.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The plan needs to involve free agency, in a big way IMO, for this draft to pay off.

This is a rare position to draft in and it has distinct advantages.

If you are in "win now" mode, the draft is not exactly your friend.

I would prefer the plan to be to continue to focus on the future. That directly involves QB.

If Lynch dropped to us in the 2nd I'd definitely take him if we passed on QB in the first. But I don't really like Connor. Sub-60% completion rating and questionable attitude/leadership would keep him off my list in the 2nd.
