So, @Teague31, was the point of the thread to say we weren't in the vaunted 12? Or that it wasn't effective? It sounded like you felt we weren't using the package. Given that we did in fact use the package quite a bit, do you still think the Escobar pick was a waste as a result? Or was it a waste for a different reason, then? Or maybe not a waste at all?
My own opinion on the topic isn't changed. If we're going to feature 12 and 13 sets heavily, we obviously want three capable TEs healthy at all times, and the pick makes sense as a result. For a team that struggled in the red zone and with it's running game in critical situations, the multiple TE sets make a lot of sense. My only frustration is devoting three 2nd rounders overall to getting that backup to Jason Witten. That's a heavy price to pay, but it's on the organization, and not on Escobar.
