And Marv pleaded guilty to the charges. NBC let him go, and he was hired by TNT. now he does work for both TNT and is doing NCAA games on CBS today. i don't see guys like Dale Hansen, the Mayor of Dallas. or anyone in the media screaming and crying that he should not be allowed to broadcast. again. or that that TNT and CBS don't care about women. GIVE ME A BREAK! remember this. http://www.southcoasttoday.com/article/19970521/News/305219953?template=printart Where was the outraged from Dale Hansen and people like him at that time? Albert admitted he did it. Hardy still has not admitted he did it.

so if you don't admit it, it didn't happen. well that should clear out a hell of a lot of court cases.

Albert was absolutely roasted for quite a while after that.

I don't know what case you're remembering here but it seems like you're trying to create some outrage over absolutely nothing.

Marv works for or covers local Dallas Sports teams now? If now I doubt Dale or the mayor of Dallas would not care about it.

BIGGG difference than someone being paid to come in and work for the local team.

Marv was fired by NBC and The Knicks iirc. He was unemployed for over a year before going back to NBC for a couple more years.

maybe not, but plenty of others did. this is beyond old news

I remember some having fun with it because it was a crazy story. But, that was about it. No outrage over it.

You could also take a look at Jay Mariotti. Outside of Dead$pin, no moral outrage in anything.

Or Mike Tirico. Still works heavily at ESPN and it was like nothing happened.

Hansen was the same guy that got on his soap box and claimed that the NFL was homophobic being Michael Sam was drafted by the Rams in the 7th round.

He's gotten on his soap box before about things in sports that have nothing or little to do with local Dallas sports.

But the OP's point mainly was the lack of outrage about Marv being employed despite his horrible past. The same can be said about Mike Tirico. The OP was using Hansen as an example of people that get outraged about something but when one of their own is worth being outraged over, they become silent.

I think Tirico was suspended for a bit. Nothing ever came of the allegations though. Perhaps they accusers were paid off. No idea.

Marv and the accuser had an on-going relationship from what I remember...she knew he was a freak. He may have paid her off also. The only thing they could prove about it was the biting.

So a three month suspension sounds about right from what I recall.

Sounds like the guy is a total creep. Likely Marv is also.

I don't think Hardy is one of those guys.
I do think he is a possible headache.

Crazy part about your link was someone said 50 incidents. I get that he was young, but that is incredible. Disney is not as squeaky clean as they pretend to be, never has been.

I think if the allegations are true, Hardy should be suspended for the entire year. I just don't know the full details of Hardy's accusations as I've heard that his accuser has made accusations like this with something like 5 different men. Could be true, may not be true. But if it is, he should be punished severely. Not only for what he did, but he would clearly need time to get therapy and get himself better. I don't believe in giving death sentences at the drop of a hat, but I do believe in giving second chances if the person has been reformed and helping that person reform themselves.

The issue is that guys like Dale Hansen in the media get on their soap box all of the time when it's about athletes and sports organizations. He was the same guy that got on his soap box and called the NFL homophobic because they didn't draft Michael Sam until the 7th round. As I've mentioned countless times...there was a Pac-10 defensive player of the year that was a tweener like Michael Sam. He was too small to play his given position at linebacker and too slow to play safety. The only team that took a chance on him was not until the 7th round and they signed him in large part because he was a 'local kid.'

That player?

Pat Tillman

But when other members of the sports media do disgusting and reprehensible acts...there is just no outrage. Hansen covers sports and part of that is to have an opinion about the sports media when the story presents itself. Instead mum is the word when lowlifes like Tirico, Mariott, Mark Schwartz, etc. act like they do with little or no repercussions.

The problem with sports journalism is liberalism is creeping in it.
When sports media starts sounding like CNN or msnbc then you have lost your credibility.
