Yeah, it sounds like he expects to be a starter, and teams just aren't going to promise a starting job to a 4th receiver who caught 15 balls last year.

I imagine there's a lot of teams that would like to sign him, he's not short on talent, but either Butler's not willing to sign as a backup or teams want to avoid a potential head case.

I just want him to sign somewhere to possibly get us a comp pick. But I doubt that.
I think we pretty much seen the last of FA signings until after the draft. And probably until right before TC so the comp picks won't count. I think it is around mid may when that is no longer in effect.

I hope he doesn't get signed & if he does it's for the minimum on a prove it one year deal & he goes out& don't prove it& this time next year he's contemplating retirement because of no market for him. That interview was really stupid. I think he's a good WR, and the team that gets him will get a deal, but he's 28, has accomplished little, and expects to be guaranteed a starting slot.

I hear the WR class is deep. Teams are probably thinking they will see what turns up in the draft before signing a guy at his level.

sometimes it was hard to believe that he didn’t get more opportunities.

considering that just about everyone here thinks the player management and play calling have been subpar, i don’t see the wisdom of dissing butler and cheering the new guy thompson.
