Where is the formation that uses a FB? Several teams the Cowboys have faced go to a pro set with a FB to lead. Why Dallas does not utilize a FB ever is beyond me.

Many teams don’t even carry one anymore. The traditional lead blocking fullback is pretty rare.

Considering how much Garrett’s offense appears to try to mirror the 90s Cowboys, it’s a bit surprising but you can’t hold it against him considering it’s the direction the league has been going for awhile.

Personally—I still think it can be a valuable asset on the offense but it’ll mean less snaps for Jarwin, Pollard or Cobb.

They seemed to have forgotten him as well as Pollard. Was used earlier in the year. Have not seen much the past 4 or 5 games Of either one.

Food for thought.

Imagine paying a player at their position, the 4th highest salary ... and only using them on special teams.

Insult to injury, the Cowboys actually traded for Olawale as well, after the Raiders signed away former FB Keith Smith.

So, in summation, let your then-starting fullback leave in free agency, traded for fullback from the team that signed yours, handsomely paid the guy, and then don't play him.

It is impossible to get return on investment for something you never use.

They don't teach it anymore. They teach you to pick up a blitz, to catch the football out of the backfield and things that help the passing game but, lead blocking for a running game is not something you see taught much anymore. Heck, the guys that used to be FBs are now taught to be TEs or LBs. It is what it is.

I have and always will feel that it's a key component for an offense built around such huge investments in its offensive line and running game. And something that this coaching staff has always missed on. Not acquiring one or keeping one around, but failing to then use the position.

We don't have a blocking fullback, so kind of pointless to have him in there.

Why does it matter? This coaching staff cannot use the players we have ....... Why add another just to misuse?

Well said.

Such a waste of talent. He's a full back with a little receiver ability that should have more opportunity.
