Catch is right. Protein is Protein...BUT they are rated on how pure it is on a scale of 0-100% and weither or not its white or off shades of white.

In the ON products we use strickly 90% protein cause thats the highest grade (it goes 90-100, 80-89, 70-79...etc) which in return gives us the highest graded turn outs (protein g's and all that other stuff

If you eat a 100 grams of egg protein or a 100 grams of ON protein there isn't going to be any difference in your results.

All those fancy proteins do is mix / taste better.

for a change im thinking about doing HST(hypertrophy specific training) for 6 weeks, i usually go heavy because i followed MAX-OT for so long and got great results. i believe i am at the plateau and need to change things up. it will just be an adjustment for me not to go to failure on each set, any pointers for HST ?

Highly disagree. Protein CAN be different and whey and casein are not the same.

I don't know anything about that stuff.

All I know is if you lift heavy and get the propper nutrition your muscles will grow. It's that simple.

If you're "plateauing" than either youre not lifting heavy enough and breaking your muscles down enough or you're nutrition is off.

The proteins that are manufactured now are hydrolyzed as well as delivered in different scenarios ie. whey or casein. I take Gaspari's Myofusion because it contains both and helps for slow release during the evening.

Yeah, 30 years ago eggs and other sources of protein did bodybuilders just fine but advancement in science has yielded some help in the bodybuilding department.

OR you are overtraining and your muscles can't "cash the checks your body is trying to write".

Whey absorbs quicker , Casein takes longer to absorb.


In the long run it won't make much difference.


But honestly you should be getting as much protein from food as possible and try to avoid the supplements.


When I get done cutting fat im going to try to stay away from protein shakes and eat more whole food but the 24 grams of protein with 120 calories is so clutch when trying to burn fat.

Yeah.. Not getting enough rest could be it too.

the egg protein will only stay for so long, the proteins we use are designed to stay in the body longer...i believe its whey protein that stays in your body for up to 8 hours total

I love a protein shake because it's just hard for me to get enough protein without drinking them, and I only weigh 175. I can't imagine what it's like for heavier guys who need even more protein. I eat eggs, chicken, and everything else every day but I just don't have the appetite to eat any more than I already do, and drinking a shake is easy when you need another 30 grams of protein.

Nothing beats natural protein sources... shakes are best utilized PWO because they are fast absorbing

But it really depends what your looking to do..

I used gold standard and have now switched to gasparis myofusion and gold standard cassien before bed because it is a slower acting protein
