Which 1st rd prospect improves the team the most?

Cb is less important than guard and te? Yeah, I'm not sure you have a clue here

#2 corner on a defense with a bad front 7 and playing for a coordinator that plays a lot of zone. Yes, it’s 1 of the least important positions for us to fill. I’ll keep repeating it...2nd worst vs the run and 8th worst at pressuring the QB. CB’s don’t help that and can’t do their job unless we improve upon those 2 things first.

Also, pretending as if Pitts is just a TE is laughable at best

Brown as your starting CB on the outside is a disaster. Which is why we are almost certain to take Surtain or Horn unless one of the elites fall..

That's the way Jerry thinks "unless one of the elites fall".

We did that with Lamb, fine, be we can't keep going to that well, at some point he has to acknowledge the Defensive problems.

Parsons could start at any LB spot we have. He’s way better than anything we have.

Im going with he or Pitts. Both of those have the potential to be perineal all pros.

But having two good CB's allows us to play Cover 0 and there's the QB pressure. I do agree with your comments regarding our inability to stop the run.

Trade down improves this team the must

Barmore
Grant
Bolton

tough to beat
I agree that trading down makes the most sense. However, we have two second day DTs who have shown signs of improvement. The DE room is the worst in the league. They have ONE quality starter. After that, you have no one you can count on.
Trade back to 20 with the Bears for a 1st round pick in '22 & take Jaelan Phillips. He's got great size, length, power, & hands.

Many believe Slater is very similar to Zach Martin in which whatever position he plays along the line, he will be very good. We saw Martin play Right Tackle last year and instantly performed well. Slater just tested out extremely well, his length is just came a little under the threshold. Many believe he is an excellent fit in a zone block scheme, which we run. He is a legit blue chip prospect, where many don't think he will even be there at 10.

But is he the solution at LT?

I have see few mocks that have him gone by 10.

cant look at it this way

it doesn’t matter what we spent on DT, the fact is DLaw and Gregory with the nee DE we signed are way way way better than what we have at DT and DT is a critical position. We were number 31 in run defense and this year we will have a MLB made of glass (LVE) and a ballerina at SLB and a SS pretending to be a WLB. Every single team will run on us again

our main needs still are DT, MLB and FS

Let's go method of elimination.
What's the most pressing issue with the team, offense or defense?
Forget offense.
What's the pressing need on D, stop the run or pass?
Forget the secondary.
What player would be the most impactful in stopping the run?
Parsons.

That is not my first choice but I think he would be most immediate impactful player. I think long term, that would be Slater or Surtain.

CB's are unimportant if you don't have at least adequate S's and decent QB pressure.

Yeah, I'm not spending a high pick on a LB until we fix DT. Is Parsons making that big an impact if he has to take on O-Lineman constantly?

Martin played a handful of snaps at OT. Nothing was proven.

If Slater is taken at #10 he has to start somewhere along the line. You’re looking for an instant impact player when you draft in the Top 10.

If Surtain is still seen as a top 10 pick even though he's no ball hawk, he must be outstanding in coverage.

So we'll have a CB1 that locks down the WR1 and forces the QB to throw in the direction of our ball hawk at CB2.
great point.

He is 50/50 to make it to 10. He wouldn't be a Tackle option right away unless injury happens. Either starts for Connor Williams or Biaz within the interior.

I think if we draft Parsons then ideally Jaylon enjoys a little more time on the bench.

With how good Parsons is as a blitzer you can also have him pass rush a lot on 3rd down.
I am fine with rotating the linebackers. Think Parsons fits the strong-side role due to his rush abilities, but eventually moving to the mike should be his role. There is already a lot invested at the position, with poor results, I don't think the team views the positional group as dire as us fans. Just please don't resign Sean Lee and find a more capable, available backup.

Brown is not an average starter, Imo. Playing the slot also isn't the same as playing the outside. Brown can't play on the outside and there is no way he would be average out there.
I think they are both average and could easily be replaced. Truly would like to see the team draft a corner/safety and have Kazee play the slot over both Brown/Lewis. Due to their contracts, probably not going to happen.

Agreed

Getting a CB who is a ballhawk is nice and all, but coverage ability trumps all.
