Which cornerback will have the best season

This is pretty much just a guess. If we're saying he has a high ceiling, then you can do it with basically any toolsy player that gets drafted.

Injuries are what they are, but he's 25 years old and hasn't shown any good play in the NFL. His college body of work was fine but mostly incomplete. The odds of him turning into some sort of shutdown corner are razor thin.
We are going to find out soon, but I think the kid could become a descent corner in this league, if he can stay healthy and gain some confidence in his self.

And who said he is prone to injury?

He was thrown in the fire way to early because of his injury. Not because he wasnt ready.

The guy was advertised as a top CB i scouting memos. First round grades if not for his injury. Now you say the guy is raw.

Nah he isnt. He is not good. Just because he looked good in college against minor competition doesnt make him better. The guy has fundamental flaws.

Maybe this draft will be different. I do sure hope so.

But right now to me it doesnt look like it.

Downs may be a good one. But he is just a safety. Not an high impact player like a pass rusher. You dont spent such a high draft pick on a safety. Generational or not. Thats bad resource management.

Lawrence is a poor mans DFlaw. A step to slow to be a pass rusher and no bend ability. Needs at least one season to develop. Thats not good drafting. You dont spent first rounders on players that may become starters in their second season. Your first rounders have to be day one starters and make an instant impact.

Our CB we drafted in the 4th is injury prone and had be ause of that red flags all over him. Position with the biggest need and then you draft this guy? And again an injured CB. Great pick!

Revels first season was thrown away because of injury. Now ypu say he is raw and needs time. So maybe in his third year he will contribute? That was a 2nd round pick and half of his rookie contract is thrown out of the window? Mow we do the same crap again with Lawrence? #41 i-dont-know-where-the -play-is-going-because-my-heads-up-arse is the same crap we were drafring.

Guys who have essentially no competition at their spot and were drafted very high arent able to even crack the lineup. Come on man!

Well lets see what Barnhan can do.

You may call me negative or maybe too demanding. I dont think i am. All i do is reminding all of you what it takes to be a contender. And its not having excuses or being polite. If you want ro play with the big biys you have to look at the small things. And we dont do that AND we are very bad at them too. Heck we are even bad at those simple things.

And now i have to listen to this clowns that they plan on bringing maybe Crosby in.
I don't. I think you are premature in saying he can't play.

Revel went to East Carolina. And he was coming off surgery in 2024. Small school players coming off surgery are generally going to need some time. Saying he can't play at this point is premature.

Revel was drafted in 2025. This is his 2nd season. He was a 3rd round pick.

What makes you think he is not raw? I mean, he is, what makes you dispute that?

I agree w/ a lot of what you're saying. I simply think you have assessed Revel incorrectly.

Pretty much all toolsy players do have high ceilings. Doesn't mean they'll play up to it, simply means that the skills are there to be very good.

I hope it’s Bland and Revel. We have sunk lots of cap space into Bland and Revel needs to show us he has recovered from that knee injury. And Bland needs to show us he can play a full season after two foot surgeries in two years.

But I also wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Cobie Durant. He’s not the most gifted player and is a little small but he has a knack for the ball and in the right surroundings can be very solid.

IMO Corner is one of the biggest roster question marks going into the season.
Don't forget Moore. 1st round talent who slid due to injuries. IF he can stay on the field, he is a major talent.

Idk none of them have much of a ceiling.

Bland I guess.
Bland? I don't understand you declaring he has a ceiling. It appears that he has already reached what he is.

A ceiling is nothing more than an indication of what a player can be. Revel is not close to reaching his ceiling, especially after only one season coming from a small school, and on a very bad D.

Which cornerback will have the best season

Bland and there is no one close. Come on. We don't even know who else will start or play. This is not even a discussion. Talk about who the #2 is for sure, but Bland is the only guy we know for sure will even get significant snaps

I watched him closely in his first year. Its of course just my opinion. He does not look good.

Yes. My bad. Somebody else correted me also a few months ago. Cant help, dont know why i always think he was a 2nd rounder.

Maybe because to me its not really important. 2nd and 3rd round picks to me are equally valuable if you want to build a team thru the draft. You just cant throw them away or take to much risk. Well you should not take any risk with your first 3 picks imo anyways. Your first three picks are the most important and most valuable when it comes to building your team thru the draft.

What makes you think he is not raw? I mean, he is, what makes you dispute that?
I did not make a statement about that. But honestly you dont pick this guy if he were. We picked him so he shouldnt be raw. Especially with us saying we had him as a first round value.

Well i critique taking a player with a valuable pick who is not ready to play because of injury AND comes from a small college where you dont really know how to judge what he showed during his play there. Just because he never played against NFL worthy competition.

Well, you can pick such a risky player if you just won the SB and have no need at all at your roster. Then of course, do it. But we suck, our defense needs upgrades at essentially every spot. But especially at CB.

Now you pick a player with your third pick in that situation. The guy has no real competition on the roster. In fact we just lost fundamental players to FA and there are openings everywhere. Your pick HAS to be a day one starter! Everything else is unacceptable. If, and thats the big if: of course only if you really want to be a better team. Else you can of course take him, knowingly throwing away his first two years with us.

I agree w/ a lot of what you're saying. I simply think you have assessed Revel incorrectly.
Well thanks for agreeing with some. Of course i am happy if Revel pans out.

But last year he looked completely lost on the field. He seems to be not able to understand schemes. He is stiff, cant turn. No hips. Doesnt look for the ball, has no feel for the ball but he was advertised as a ball hawk. He seems to have no real feel for the game nor the WRs body language. Which is fundamental for a DB. He didnt look slow but was constantly beaten badly on fly routes. That was really bad and stomaching to watch.

The guy cant use his athletisism. He doesnt look like a football player, more like an athlete. Not as bad as #41 but reminds me of him.

I really hope this all was just because of his injury. But i doubt it. If he were a 6th round pick id had no problem with him. Guy needs a lot of time to grasp what it means to play CB. Id give that to him. But with such a high investement? Sorry, no way!
