Which Current Cowboys...

Ware, Witten, and Ratliff at DT. Leonard Davis at RG because LA had not been drafted yet.

Folk and McBriar both could.

Other than that, I'd take the 93 squad.

Witten
Ware (as a rush D end)
Newman
Roy Williams (opposite Irvin. He's better than any # 2 we had during that time, including Harper who was inconsistent)
Gurode (maybe)
Leonard Davis (???again maybe. I think he'd be a beast playing with Larry Allen, Erik Williams, et al.)

It's really hard to say on the defensive side of the ball since we played a 4-3 v. a 3-4 now. Hard to compare the players except for Ware since he'd be a Hall of Famer in any system. Spears might make a good 4-3 tackle and Bradie James might be good in there with Norton and the rest. However, I don't think James is quick enough to play with that defense. We were so good then, it would be hard to replace many of those guys.

I forgot Folk and McBriar. Both would be upgrades. Ratliff maybe as well, but we had some pretty damn good tackles back then. Even considering Allen on those teams, I still believe I'd take Leonard Davis over Nate.

Hostile, I know Allen didn't come along until the 94 season, but can you imagine adding Leonard Davis to the mix of Allen, Williams, et al. Talk about devastating.

Nate was at LG though. So I wasn't even factoring that into the equation. RG was Gogan I believe.

Last year when Kosier went down I hoped we'd give LA a call. I honestly believe he was better than anyone we had at LG last year. Besides, I am biased, he is one of my all time favorites.

I'm suprised only Newman was named.

Wasn't our CBs and safeties during those times somewhat unspectacular? Other than James Washington and Kevin Smith, I mean.

We drafted Darren Woodson in 1992.

Newman is a good call at LCB and Smith at RCB. I would add him to the list for sure.

Was Woodson starting in 1993? I know JW was one safety, don't recall if Woody was the starter or not the next year.

Also, sort of on a tangent... if we had Newman on one side, and a pre-achilles injury Smith on the other side... which CB would opposing QB's fear more?

I've been over the roster and don't see anyone else other than those mentioned. I could ad more as backups but not starters.

I'm guessing Ware would start as a DE since they played the 4-3?

J.P. Ladaceour

or whatever his name is, I don't even know if we had a long snapper on those teams? or did Step do it all?
