It's only been a few days following the NFL Draft but optimism and anticipation for the next phase of the offseason to begin are at an all-time high. For the most part, you don't find too many people having much criticism for what the Cowboys' approach was in the draft. Whether their picks work out or not cannot be judged until a few years from now.

However, the Cowboys had a plan and they seemingly executed it pretty perfectly if you think about it. So, we polled the front page writers and we'll do the same for you. We want Cowboys Nation to sound off; who was your favorite Dallas Cowboys' draft pick and why? First up, the many front-page writers will give their thoughts:

Manik Aggarwal:
DE Taco Charlton

Analysis: It takes a serious commitment to your goals and insight into your team's strengths and weaknesses to select a defensive end in the first round when better defensive backs were available. With the recent string of excellent draft picks on the offensive line, Jerry and Co recognize addressing needs is critical, albeit without going overboard (trading up for Morris Claiborne). In retrospect, this selection looks even better given the addition of a number of talented defensive backs in subsequent rounds.

Iam taking Switzer because his is exciting and will ad more electricity to the offense.
I like others a lot like AWuzie ect.
It's so much fun when the draft falls our way.

Jourdan Lewis

At the time, I think he's the best player. Now whether that will translate against bigger NFL receivers is obviously a big question mark.

Can I choose 2? Chidobe Awuzie (sp) and Jordan Lewis. Love their physicality despite their lack of height. Something tells me Anthony Brown + these two are gonna be hell to throw at in the near future!

Switzer crossed my mind first to, for the simple fact that he very well could have an immediate impact on 2/3rds of the team. I suspect it's going to take awhile for the defenders; the gap between college ball and pro ball, I think, is much more pronounced for the specific positions we pulled (DE, Safety, CB). Whereas, Switzer could literally come in and pick up exactly where he left off and not miss a beat.

I think while the draft was happening, Woods was my fav. I was relieved to see us grab an actual S and not someone that would have to move there.

Since then, I'd say Switzer has me most intrigued.

Taco worries me the most, besides the 7th rounders.

Not sure about the last three picks but I think the first 5 picks were brilliant.

1. Taco - Probably not the best player on the board. Foster and McDowell were probably better, but Taco didn't have nearly the baggage those two have. People wanted more of a speed edge rusher like Watt or even Willis, but Taco is a guy who has versatility to play just about any spot on the line. One thing that's becoming apparent is Marinelli likes versatility at every level of the defense. He wants DL who can play all 4 spots, LBers who can play inside or out, and DBs who can play outside, in the slot, corner and safety. I think Taco fits this mold. He definitely wasn't a reach as he was projected to go earlier in the 1st round.

2. Chidobe - Probably would've been our top rated corner on the board even if we took him in the 1st round. We were fortunate that he lasted till the 2nd.

3. Lewis - Probably the BPA on the board at any position. We'll see how his legal issues play out. That's a big reason why he was still available.

4. Switzer - You can argue that this wasn't a great pick. A bit of a head scratcher at the time. I like it though. Having a good return game is very important. And New England has shown us how valuable little slot receivers can be. If he doesn't do much as a WR, at least he should provide on special teams.

5. Woods - Crazy that he lasted till the 6th. Has the potential to step in and win the starting SS job day one. Him falling to the 6th shows just how deep this class was.

Noah Brown.
I been saying for the past few months he would be a good pick up.
I liked him at Ohi oState, though he wasn't used as much as he could have been. A broken leg dint help any, as he missed time, then was recovering from that. Also he could have had a better QB last year too.
Barrett is decent, but he's not going to light the NFL on fire when he's in the draft next year either.

I jist rawly think Brown can come in with a few years of learning and he can be very productive.
Hopefully Dallas finds a way to protect him and keep him on the roster without sacrificing other positions.

Hoping he has a very strong TC.
