Which Jerry (Jones or Reese) would reject a Dez Bryant-Hakeem Nick trade?

Mike from DC has been debating this question with his friends: Hypothetically, which Jerry -- Jones or Reese -- would say no to a Dez Bryant-Hakeem Nicks trade if the other proposed it?

DG: I think they'd both say no, Mike, but that's not your point, is it? You need a debate settled. In my opinion, that would be a worse trade for the Giants. I have written many times that I think Bryant has the physical tools to be one of the best receivers in the league, and I don't rule out the possibility that he will someday be that. But Nicks already is, and he's only 10 months older than Bryant is. Nicks has all of the physical gifts, but he's also demonstrated at the NFL level a worth ethic and a sense of how to play the position, play-in and play-out, that Bryant has yet to demonstrate. If that discussion were to actually happen in real life, Jerry Reese is the one who should say no to Jerry Jones.

This is a good question right now. 6 months from now, not so much.

Bryant has a higher upside. Nicks is real good, but in what I've seen, he's not capable of what Bryant is.

Ill take Dez all day every day.....Nicks is real good, but Dez will be great

Nicks is better now. Bryant better later

I think I said that last year.

I hope next year I won't be saying "Dez will be great".

This is his year to make it happen.

Anything less than 1000 Yards / 10 TDs, and Dez starts to become a mild disappointment.

So his 928 and 9 last year make him a massive underachiever?

Nicks to this point is the better receiver with the stats to back it up. Period.

Who has the higher ceiling and ultimately the better career remains to be seen.

No -- not for a 2nd year WR with half a rookie training camp and not much of a 2nd year training camp.

928 is steady.

Having said that, 19 players who weren't 1st round picks had more recieving yards than Dez last year.

Frankly, based on his size, speed, hands, wingspan, etc I expect more. Am I wrong to expect more from him?

If he gets the numbers you want from him it's going to come at the expense of Witten and/or Austin.

Maybe it's a good thing. What fun would this place be if everyone had the same opinion and all we ever did is drink the Kool-laid.

It's definitely ok to expect more. But your expectations for him form2012 were essentially met in 2011.

Mine will be the right one.

Nicks is a better player than Dez.

Nicks is way too injury prone

And their stats in their respective years are similar

What should a Cowboys fan say on this subject? That Dez is better?

I'm a Cowboys fan and I would never make such a claim because it's not true. Dez isn't better.

The stats aren't as far off as most are making it seem. Nicks has been better, yes, but not by much.
