Who will we have for the playoffs?

I’d like to start with Parsons. Less at DE, where he wears down fighting guys that outweigh him by 70 pounds. Then we have LVE, our leading tackler (or so I heard), coming back for the playoffs. After that?
Barr
Clark?
Cox?
Gifford
Takk McKinley
Who else, and opinions on our best options?

I’d rest him now and play him exclusively rushing in the playoffs myself
I wouldn’t even dress him for last game
But some of his being wore down is he’s been sick but he’s played too many reps at DE this year
For the playoffs though I want him rushing though I’d also move him around and not just at DE

Takk is a true DE. But if health permits LVE/Barr/Clark get the most reps. Gifford and Cox are the depth.

The “official” roster I Googled has Takk listed as a LB. Weird. Have you heard Cox’s injury status? Thought he was a “difference maker”, but haven’t heard anything.

This won’t get much traffic, because there’s no “extreme” feel to it. Hater vs. Homer draws debate, but simple roster questions bore the “crusaders”.

so is parsons, and that says what..not ,much its how teams deploy them within a scheme.. i mean we know Kearse is a S but hes used as Hybrid LB quite bit actually wears the green dot..

you roll with what got you to 11-4

we still have most of what was the best defense in the league the first 7 weeks of the season and those were the LBs, correct? hopefully DQ can dial up some magic.

Yeah, sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the ever evolving carousel of hype and injuries. Plus, the “experts” constantly moving the goalposts and flip flopping.

Need LVE back and relatively healthy. I don't understand Quinn's desire to keep Parsons at DE. Seems like that should be a situational thing, i.e., the Eagles last drive Saturday. I bet Parsons is playing at nearly 10 pounds under his listed weight.

Barr can't be on the field for more than 30 snaps.

I would like to call up Malik Jefferson and see if he can make a few plays before the playoffs

I say rest Parsons. let LVE sit out this week and next and go into playoffs with Parsons, LVE, Clark/Barr combination.

I agree with every point.

It's a shame that cox has been a bust so far. They need more Williams along the DL and Micah back at LB then let him be the extra rusher at times. Dude is wore down too much, he needs a game off.

Yeah official roster is strange lol but Cox was active last game and I think every game since LVE has been injured.

I didn’t see a knee brace from what I remember but could be wrong. I think he’s just buried on the depth chart tbh.

Quinn doesn't like Cox as a player at all. That's become apparent. He plays Gifford over him.

Wow. Wonder if it’s attitude, strength or speed, knowledge, height or weight…

Cox has played 133 snaps on Special Teams. Injury is not the issue with him.

Gifford played 17% if snaps on defense vs the Eagles. He was on the field in some critical situations.
- Neither Barr or Clark were injured (i.e. Gifford not an injury replacement).
- Jabril was active but played zero snaps on defense.

At this point it appears the next man up as an emergency LB after Gifford might be Kearse with Bell or Mukuamu replacing Kearse in the 3 Safety sets.

Jabril will have to show consistency in camp/preseason to hold on to a roster spot. He has flashed several good plays in the preseason but also made more mistakes than most other players.

Takk is listed as a LB because he last played in a 3-4 defense. He is a DE in Dallas.

The wildcard is Parsons. It appears he'll stay at DE but if they have issues at LB it is always an option to move him to LB on run downs. Played significant snaps at LB in the Packers game but primarily DE in most 2022 games before that and all games since.

Next season they might consider scheme changes to limit Parsons snaps at DE. Something similar to the front 5 of a 3-4. Quinn has dabbled with those types of looks in Dallas but never stayed with them.

I think it is dependent on other personnel. They would need more 3-4 OLB type players. Sam Williams played some snaps in college as a 3-4 OLB. Fowler has played 3-4 OLB in the NFL Same with Takk. They've had Armstrong occasionally drop into coverage. DLaw would play 5tech DE in those looks. All time sacks leader Bruce Smith was a 3-4 DE (5tech)...
