Which of Bill Parcells' hired guns will you forever associate as a lifelong Cowboy?

When I think of Cowboys greats, I usually think of guys that began their careers in Dallas. It's a sign of the times with the salary cap and free agency, but more than any coach in Cowboys history, Parcells has brought in free agents to be big contributors on this team.

Which free agents have won you over the most? Which free agents are you going to consider a Cowboy forever once they retire, regardless of where they began or will end their career?

Richie Anderson
Drew Bledsoe
Scott Fujita
Aaron Glenn
Terry Glenn
Anthony Henry
Jason Ferguson
Keyshawn Johnson
Marco Rivera
Scott Shanle

If Bledsoe wins a Superbowl with Dallas, he will probably go into the HOF as a Cowboy and forever consider himself a Cowboy. My vote goes to Drew.

Choosing one is tough, but I went with Terry Glenn.

Glenn left NE in such a bad way and has really been a guy that I really love to have play on my favorite team.

I took him over Key, who has really grown on me, because Glenn probably has at least another two years left and I think Key has 1 year left in the tank at most.

After that, I think it's down to Henry, Fujita, and Shanle.

I'm going to associate my boy TG as one simply because he loves Dallas so much...if anyone saw that BET special last year on him, they saw how much he revers the team and its history..not just Bill Parcells

He had such a rough time in NE that it's a long chapter of his life he claims he prefers to forget...he found a certain amount of redemption in Dallas and considerable acceptance. Now he's just concernd with winning FOR Dallas. No "personal accolades matter".

Whether he remains a Cowboy is irrelevant..hard to last out the rest of your career anywhere..but since he identifies so much as a "Cowboy", it's how I will always think of him.

I've got to go with Keyshawn, only because most of my Cowboys memories begin in 1980. Since I'm too young to remember most of the Staubach glory days, the 90's team is the dynasty I associate with the Cowboys, and them boys had a swagger to them. They strutted their stuff, they had fiery passion, and they knew they were good. In my opinion, Keyshawn is the closest we've had to that kind of player since the days of the Triplets. I know some folks like the players who keep their trap shut, but I think every team needs a passionate tough veteran leader like Key.

I can see where a lot of you are coming from with your choices. I think in five years, as long as he stays healthy, Anthony Henry may be the winner of this poll. Henry and Newman were already becoming one of the best corner duos in the NFL before the groin injury. Because he's still relatively young and didn't spend much time in Cleveland, as long as him and Newman continue to stay away from injuries and have enough support around them, they could be one of the more famous cornerback duos in Cowboys history.

I am going with Glenn

Keyshawn will be a close second if he hangs around a couple more years and plays at his current level.

Glenn may be able to play at his current level 2-3 more years and that would be a pretty long career in Dallas.

It's too early to say. If this team wins a championship they'll be more than 1 remembered as Cowboys.

drew if he goes in will go in as a ne patriot. the reason being say he plays one or two more years in dallas he will be up near the top in most of the all time leading categories in stats. but a good chunk of those numbers where done up in ne where he made a superbowl apprence and he did when a ring there even though i dont think he jumps for joy when he thinks of it. Drew is a class act and regardl;essof the team i hope he wins his own superbowl and goes into the hof

I had to pick Keyshawn Johnson because I have loved every minute of him as a Dallas Cowboy. But you pretty much have to mention Terry Glenn in the same breath.

Both have been outstanding in their contributions. Both will be back next year for sure as we contend for a Super Bowl.

None.

They played with other teams and some will probably do the same in the future.

Thus they cant be lifelong cowboys.

I don't see Henry, Fujita and especially Shanle as hired guns. These are relatively young guys. Shanle only played 1 year in St. Louis.

I don't know if I will ever consider these guys in the same boat as the guys that played the vast majority of their careers or their entire careers in Dallas. It is just a different game now. I will appreciate the players that help Dallas win Superbowls, but they won't be my favorite Cowboys. Charles Haley and Thomas Everett came to Dallas and helped make it a champion, but I view them as hired guns. There were so many other guys on those teams developed and stayed in Dallas that I think of as Cowboys.

Honestly none of them yet. They need to do something like win some playoff games first.

Think there are several guys and if they stick around a little longer they are no doubt Cowboys. My picks are Terry Glenn & Keyshawn Johnson but if they stick around a little longer I'd also say Drew Bledsoe with Henry coming along. I think all of these guys will end there career here. If Fujita continues to improve and ultimately wins out the job of OLB for next several year, I think we will all forget he ever played for another team. BTW: I think if Bledsoe wins at least 1 SB for us could get him in the HOF based also on his career stats. If by some miracle we win 2 SBs in next 2-3 years, bet you Drew goes in HOF as a Cowboy. A SB ring means more to him then his career stats.

I would say none at this point, although I'd say Henry if he plays here for many more years. He's about the only one (besides Shanle, who is a non-entity) who is young enough to still play most of his career here.

But the one guy I would say that's not on the list is Dan Campbell. Even though he started in New York, the fact that he's such a team leader and a local guy complete with the Texas accent qualifies him IMO.

That's *if* he can play here for several more years, which I'm starting to doubt.

Bledsoe and Keyshawn.

Bledsoe because he's the QB and if he wins, great thing will follow. One being his forever rememberance as being a Cowboy's Super Bowl Winning QB. A very elite group to join. Once there, you're there forever.

Keyshawn simply because when I think of "Parcell's Players" Keyshawn leaps out at me as the biggest since LT. He also reminds so many of Irvin. When we think of Parcells in the future, I believe Keyshawn will be the player and personality we associate right along with him as "his guy".

Now Terry, although possibly accomplished the most of any so far, he reminds me of an invisible man. He's easily forgettable. And I mean forgettable by us the fans, not defenses. In a way he's like Joey Galloway Part II, a player who just doesn't fit the "profile" of a Dallas Cowboy player to be remembered. Yknow, a personality that just doesn't stand out. And in Dallas, that's really unfamiliar for the position. He'll be remembered like Alvin Harper is remembered today in 10 years. And probably not even as much. I highly doubt we'll have the same remorse for ever losing Terry as we did after losing Alvin- Irvin's trusty sidekick. He's a man who stands alone.
