Paea, Hughes. If the Cowboys can make the numbers on Suh work, I'd take him.

DE: Hughes, Sheard and JPP (if $ is right).

DT: Fairley, Paea and Suh ($ not too crazy).

3-4 to 4-3 DE: Graham, McPhee and Orakpo (health & $).

I don't think Dallas will be touching any high priced FA

Jerry Jones on FA "We want to be active. I think the word really is attentive because we won't be active if the player is out of kilter at what we can afford or out of kilter with what his number is relative to what we can do is. So, it just is going to depend.

I expect Dallas to continue to look to mid level FA that has worked as opposed the large break the bank deals. I could see Dallas taking a chance on Nick Fairley since I think that will likely be a lower end deal.

I like Hughes the most...as well as the other names out there like Suh and whoever of course.

One guy I'd at least kick the tires on is Jared Odrick. He only had 1 sack this year but was around 5 a year for the three years before that. Shouldn't be too expensive and is a natural DT but, with his frame, could probably play some DE as well.

McPhee
Hardy if acquitted

Paea was not good against the Cowboys.

Why Paea? Have you watched him or just connecting the dots with the Marinelli connection?

Fairley, Hughes, Bowers. I think we could get bowers on a cheap deal and could sign all 3

If the numbers can work out, then a run at a DE, a DT, and then maybe a CB

Defensive ends

Greg Hardy, Carolina Panthers (on Commissioner's Exempt List) - if acquitted
Jason Pierre-Paul, New York Giants - would be 1st on my list
George Selvie, Dallas Cowboys - at vet minimum
Anthony Spencer, Dallas Cowboys - at vet minimum

Defensive tackles
Nick Hayden, Dallas Cowboys - vet minimum
Terrance Knighton, Denver Broncos - maybe, just maybe
Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions - would make a huge difference on the line

Outside linebackers (I only left 3-4 OLB in this list)
Brandon Graham, Philadelphia Eagles - would be a DE and a good one
Justin Houston, Kansas City Chiefs - if he could be a DE, go for it

Problem is one the cap and two we don't yet who is actually available because a lot of these guys will resign or be franchised

I like Alualu but as a DT not an end.

Fairly at not too crazy a price.

Hughes and Hardy (if cleared).

Suh if they want to pay a lot to a FA (I don't think they do).

Obviously Dallas can't sign them all, but I do like these guys if the price is right.

I think he's getting better and would give us another penetrator in the middle. Not sure how he stacks up v. The run, but he's really strong. Don't see Melton back and Hayden, so could be a good fit, IMO.

Didn't put any connection with Marinelli. No clue if he even likes him, etc. What are your thoughts on him?

I think the only way Melton comes back is off a completely new deal. Dallas can opt out of the current deal making Melton a FA at that time Dallas would have the right to make him an offer.

I wouldn't mind seeing if Clayborn has anything left. He was really good coming out of college, and when he has been healthy in the NFL he has been quite good, he has just missed most of 2 of his seasons (including his last one). We might also be able to get him on a one year deal dirt cheap because he has been having so much injury trouble.

Guys I have some level of interest in. Some may not even be on Cowboys radar, I just feel them to be somewhat intriguing. Also, obviously price is a determining factor.

Suh - Don't really want him, but at the right price his talent is undeniable...
Greg Hardy - Off the field problems, talent undeniable
JPP - Young with a lot to prove, hope his back problems are behind him
BJ Raji - Played in 3-4 and during their SB run I thought he was best DT in game, could resurrect career after injury and down years.
Jabaal Sheard - Played well statistically at D-END first two years, moved to OLB hurt him
Nick Fairley - Has had weight issues and performance issues, Id kick tires for cheap
Letroy Guion - I was impressed with how he improved in place of Raji this year
Pernell McPhee - I feel like he will get way overpaid, interesting prospect
Jason Worilds - Same as McPhee
Brandon Graham - Got a bad roll at Philly when they moved to new defense, could resurrect career here.
Justin Houston - I know he will bay way to expensive, but he could play D End, in the end wont be here
Adrian Clayborn - High Draft pick that has had quite a few injuries, would kick tires to see if he can salvage his career

I reviewed all of his snaps against the Cowboys and was not overly impressed. I think T. McClain could be similar if healthy as a 1tech/3tech combo type. I think Brent/Bishop would be better against the run.

If Dallas choose to they can release Melton at any time, according to his contract if he is on the roster on the 1st day of the 2015 league year then his contract is over 9 mill (2015 league year and free agency period begins March 10(4 p.m. ET) if he is released Cowboys owe nothing and Melton is a FA. Dallas at that point can make an offer.

1A. Jason Worilds, Pittsburgh Steelers
1B. Derrick Morgan, Tennessee Titans
2 Jerry Hughes, Buffalo Bills
3 Brandon Graham, Philadelphia Eagles

One of any of the above at weakside end would be great. Rotate in with Lawrence.

Sign Spencer to a cheap deal and move Mincey over to the strong side.

Sam Acho would be a nice pick up if marinelli wants to have a good blitzing LB on the team. He shouldn't be an expensive signing either
