So who you got your eye on early?
Yes there are many areas on this roster that will provide some serious camp battles, and interest to those keeping an eye out, but I'm asking if you don't have the time or resources to be in Oxnard, which player are you really wanting to see do something from your resources at hand, mainly internet, tweets, etc.. having a first hand Oxnard view is not available to most, including myself, so having said that, which player are you looking for info on early with your resources at hand.

I'm stepping outside the box, and looking at camp from the back end of the roster first,, different approach but I will start crossing guys off my final 53 with this approach...
So my guy early is Sammy Seamster. I'm eliminating camp bodies first, its the easy way,, but is Seamster just a camp body,,, I'm keeping an eye on this first evaluation.
I find Sammy Seamster to be a very intriguing player, a player that really has a chance, but is very unknown to this point by many.

In no order, my top 3 is

Jaylon Smith
Chidobe Awuzie (I took the time to learn how to spell it, he better not be a bust lol)
the young DL. Irving, Collins, Tapper.

LG.... think Green wins it
The SWITZ.....think he gets carries as 3rd dn back
#cleareyeview........gotta see to believe

Jaylon Smith. We need playmakers on defense. He's one ... if he's healthy. And with Wilson likely to be suspended, we're going to need linebackers. I'm really interested to see how far he has returned from injury.

You said "player" so I'm only going to give you one.

Honestly, a lot of guys... but I will be paying close attention to all the young guys in the secondary. Particularly Xavier Woods and Heath. I think it is going to be a good competition (that Heath wins). However, I do think Woods is going to play some like Wilcox would come in for Church.

interesting view on Switz, maybe a better version of Ty Montgommery.

That's my preliminary focus as well **, I'm keeping a very close eye on how this entire back 7 comes together, and Woods will definitely be in my cross hairs.

Mostly the rookies, and I put Rico, Jaylon & Tapper in that category.

I'd say Dak, but he didn't practice all that great last year so mostly I'm looking forward to people freaking out if he doesn't look like Tom Brady from the get go.

I'm going to go with La'el Collins. Too often teams are worried about their weaknesses from the previous season and only make marginal improvement in those weaknesses. Meanwhile their strengths substantially weaken and the team ends up far worse in the end.

The strength of this team is the O-Line with the running blocking and pass protection it provides. The ability to set the edge at both sides on perimeter zone runs with EE being so dangerous out there combined with Dak's awesome ability off the bootleg. That forces teams to have the weakside defender play contain on Dak and creates 10 vs. 10 situations on run plays. But, it all starts with the O-Line's ability to set the edge and to set the edge off LT and RT.

Of course, we also changed the LG spot, but I think Cooper or Green can handle that position, particularly with Tyron and Fred sandwiched in between them. And there's actually a legitimate reason for this O-Line to be *better* than it has ever been if Collins and Green/Cooper play up to their potential.

If that happens, it can make everybody's job easier. Makes EE's job easier, makes Dak's job easier and can allow the receivers to do more things and create situations where the defense is playing with the lead.

But, it all starts at being able to set the edge at RT and being reasonably good in pass protection.

Jourdan Lewis. Kid is going to be a stud, and is going under the radar right now. Which I like. Hes going to push Scandrick, which can only be a good thing.

I would like to know if Rico Gathers can actually play at this level or if he is a pretender.

I would like to know if Jaylon Smith can be a contributor playing with the brace or not.
