Which Position do you Think the Cowboys Draft in Round One?

I'm going to say they draft a tackle and free up some cap space by releasing Free.

Thoughts?

I don't think they target a position. They will take BPA at G, DT, DE at 18, or OT, S in a trade back.

This.

They seem to like Parnell.

That said, I can't see them spending a first on a OT.

My targets are 6 players within 3 positions (there would be a 7th player-4th position if Lane Johnson fell)
no particular order
1. Warmack
2. Cooper
3. Lotulelei
4. Richardson
5. Floyd
6. Vacarro

Think? Safety. Vacarro seems like a likely target if available.

Want? Guard. Warmack or Cooper + a vet RT who is an upgrade from Free/Parnell and our entire offense is much much better.

I think they will take an OT they really like in a skinny minute esp if he can play either side. Any tackle would have to be roughly in the same tier as another OL say like Cooper, DT or S. Any player regardless of position who falls will be considered obviously.

I want OL the most in round #1, but if Star Lotulelei falls to us, you almost have to take him...he is a unique talent (as long as his medical situation pans out)....I might wet myself if they ever drafted him....

A name I have not heard a lot, but you will hear more once his private workout is here... Tank Carradine at #18

Though I am a firm believer in BPA so we will see

Charley Casserly had him as a possible sleeper pick to the Giants on path to the draft yesterday. He seemed to really like him. "First round talent with an injury" is what he said, sounds like a Cowboy type move to me.

I agree. If warmack or cooper are there, they take one if them. If both are gone then go vaccaro. If he's gone then fluker. It's all about BPA

I think they're trading out to get more picks and when they do pick will go BPA between the positions of RT, C, 3 technique DT, DE and FS.

I don't think they ever go into a draft expecting to trade down. It's more like if all their targets are gone and the value isn't there or multiple targets are there and they have someone wanting to trade up.

Same with trading up, when someone they have rated very highly starts falling and they don't think they will fall all the way and they have a team willing to make a deal that makes sense.

I don't necessarily get too hung up on BPA. It's far too subjective and really it's only going to pay off provided you can even make the correct evaluation as to who BPA is. I think it has more value in the later rounds.

Odds are, when you're picking outside of the Top 10 (and more likely Top 5) that there are a number of players who could be BPA. I would bet at the 10th pick that a league wide poll would produce at least 5 different players. Can't all be right.

This.....maybe not in that order, but that covers it.

Nice list.

Floyd is going top 5 so you can remove him.

defense. either safety or defensive tackle or end. i think we will go offense in the second and third rounds.

I think they will choose Tavon Austin over reaching for lesser tackle or guard. I believe the top 3 tackles and two guards will be off the board and Vaccaro too. I'm not saying they need him but if faced with him, I think they will bite.

I've seen them all over the map so that's why I left him in. It seems he just flopped with Lotulelei. I kind of put Johnson in there too but he too should be gone.
