If we take a RB in either the 1st or 2nd round, which of the following do you think will actually fall to us??

1st Round

Melvin Gordon
Todd Gurley

or

2nd Round

Jay Ajayi
Tevin Coleman
Ameer Abdullah

Unless Gurley's knee isnt right or doesnt have a good pro day, I think he and Gordon will not make it to 27, I can see Ajayi and Coleman possibly being gone before pick 60. what say you?

I used these 5 cause we have a scheduled visit with all of them.

I would pass on all of those options except Gurley.

I think one of Gordon or Gurley is there at 27. I think Abdullah might be the only one available in Rd 2.

In Rd one I think SD, Det, Arz, Car and Bal are the threats to take Gordon or Gurley. They all have very big needs at other positions that trump RB except maybe Arz.

These are the 2 biggest threats to take one imo.

SD needs OL and DL help in the worst way. Phillip Rivers was dinged up all year. They need to find a way to keep him up right and healthy. With the way their OL is now, any RB they bring in will struggle anyways.

Arz needs some help on the DL. Arians has stated they want a lead back, but I think they may go with someone like Eli Harold or maybe OO at this pick.

These are the teams people think will take one, but I don't think they will.

Det needs help across multiple positions on the OL. They also have a RB who is experienced and they have won with in J. Bell. I think they look later in the draft to fill the back up roll.

Car needs WR help more than a RB. They also need help along the OL and DL. I think they end up going in a different direction and may look to day 3 dfor a RB.

Bal is a toss up. They usually stick to the BPA approach, but will trade around for value. The OL is ok except for center so they may look at Cam Erving if he's still there. They do need help with the WR position and may look for a Ngata replacement here. Also they just re-signed Forsett. Ultimately I think they go in a different direction.

This is kind of how i think it will go in Rd 1. I think one of Gordon or Gurley will be there at 27.

Ill gladly take Gurley at 27
Problem is Gurley and Gordon are possibly gone before then

Second problem is Ajayi and Coleman go before 60.

We could miss out all together.

Id pass on RB in the 1st 2 rounds unless someone of really good value fall to them in either of the 2 picks. you can get Duke Johnson or Mike Davis in the 3rd... Id go CB in 1st, DL in 2nd. RB 3rd.

I think they will be there at 60 and possibly one at the 27th pick in rd 3. Now are they worth passing on a CB Dlineman you be the judge.

Imo the cliff forms after the 4th rd for RB much like the difference between Gurley and the second tier Rbacks.

That would leave opportunity for defensive lineman, offensive lineman, or cornerback. Lol
My concern is that they might feel compelled to take a RB in the 2nd even if they're not any better than some 3rd round RBs.

With the comp picks I am changing my statement to reflect that after the 3rd rd there is a huge cliff dividing the talent.

I can understand passing on Abdullah or Ajayi, both of whom I don't see to be significant improvements over what is already on the roster, but Gordon in the first or Coleman in the second, I think would be decent options. Why do you say no?

I think people are underrating the guys already on the roster relative to the guys in the draft.
