Which RB could fall to us?

It seems like in a lot of drafts very few running backs are taken in the first round, but then something happens in the 2nd round and suddenly there is a run on running backs where 4-5 might be taken in next to no time. If any of those 5 make it to our spot, we take them and don't think twice, because it's quite possible some guys with a 4th round grade won't make it to our spot in the 3rd. For example pretty much any time last draft 1 running back was taken, another was taken within a few picks, 2013 saw 4 running backs taken in 15 picks of the second round, 2011 also saw 4 picked in 15 picks, etc. As for who could fall to us, I think either Gurley or Gordon will likely be gone, but not both, 2nd round I think our options will be less, and 3rd even less than that.

I think one of Gordon or Gurley is there at 27. I think Abdullah might be the only one available in Rd 2.

In Rd one I think SD, Det, Arz, Car and Bal are the threats to take Gordon or Gurley. They all have very big needs at other positions that trump RB except maybe Arz.

These are the 2 biggest threats to take one imo.

SD needs OL and DL help in the worst way. Phillip Rivers was dinged up all year. They need to find a way to keep him up right and healthy. With the way their OL is now, any RB they bring in will struggle anyways.

Arz needs some help on the DL. Arians has stated they want a lead back, but I think they may go with someone like Eli Harold or maybe OO at this pick.

These are the teams people think will take one, but I don't think they will.

Det needs help across multiple positions on the OL. They also have a RB who is experienced and they have won with in J. Bell. I think they look later in the draft to fill the back up roll.

Car needs WR help more than a RB. They also need help along the OL and DL. I think they end up going in a different direction and may look to day 3 dfor a RB.

Bal is a toss up. They usually stick to the BPA approach, but will trade around for value. The OL is ok except for center so they may look at Cam Erving if he's still there. They do need help with the WR position and may look for a Ngata replacement here. Also they just re-signed Forsett. Ultimately I think they go in a different direction.

This is kind of how i think it will go in Rd 1. I think one of Gordon or Gurley will be there at 27.

his is a good assessment thanks

I think people are underrating the guys already on the roster relative to the guys in the draft.

Guilty. But then again considering the predraft interviews the cowboys brass have scheduled so are they.

Nice response, At least someone understood my OP, I'm not asking who you guys want in the 1st or 2nd round, but who of the RB's i listed would make it to our pick!!

If Ajayi or Coleman is there in the 2nd I take one. Ajayi is the one I want more.

Wait for the sake of waiting or you have a target in the 1st and 2nd?

There is just minimal difference in the RBs rated as 2nd rounders and the one rated as 3rd rounders. It could change if 6 of them are gone by the Cowboys 2nd round pick, but if the distribution is similar to projections I would likely wait.

If the Cowboys can get Gordon or Gurley they should, these guys will be difference makers.
