Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Kevin Coleman, Abdullah, T.J. Yeldon, or any other RB that you can think of.

Coleman.
He is a DeMarco Murray clone.
Runs just like him. Same body build.

Yes you're correct he would be a perfect fit, for me I like Gurley he too would be a fit but highly doubt they select him though.

It's kind of eeery how similar Coleman and Demarco are. I could see them interested in the Langford kid out of MSU as well.

Oh yes forgot about Langford out of MSU he too would a good fit as well. And yes Coleman is definitely similar to Demarco Murray in skill set.

I don't see anything similar in how Coleman runs like DeMarco.

Coleman outruns defenders, avoids them and sets up his blocks in the open field. DeMarco does not have breakaway speed, takes on defenders and usually runs up his blockers butts in the open field.

The Cowboys seem to like running backs that can catch the ball out of the back field so look for an RB with that skill.

Coleman does tend to have more speed in the open field than Murray, and yes while Tevin tends to dance and avoid contact DeMarco invites it in any event he would fit quite well in this scheme.

They do like those types and based on the RBs on the list I have in this thread all of them fit the criteria of being all purpose backs and for an added bonus Todd Gurley can return kickoffs.

I think many RBs could do well behind our OL it depends on what you want down to down.

With a speed back we'd have more explosive plays but may suffer in ball control because when we don't block it for 4+ we will get more 3rd and long plays.

Murray turns negative runs into 2-3 yard runs and 4 yards into 8 a lot, but he also turns 60 yard runs into 20 yards a lot as well.

The direction we take really depends on how much we can do on defense this offseason, because Murray gives us the best chance with the current D.

Indeed Murray gives the defense much needed rest with his style of play at RB and benefits the offense to chew up the clock to keep the Peyton Manning, Rodgers, Brady and Brees style offenses off the field and once this offense gets going it's like a machine that can't be stopped. As you say it all depends on what type back you want out there on the field.

Wonder what round he's likely to go in?
As of right now we don't know and if the contract situation doesn't work out with Murray then there will be plenty of talent at RB in this upcoming draft and there will also be a few in FA too.

I agree on Coleman but that video is clearly sped up. Those refs are running 40s faster than most TEs.

Jay Ajayi from Boise State. That's the guy I want regardless of whether Murray is kept or not. His combo of speed, balance, and change of direction ability is great. Especially for a guy who is 6' 215 and not easy to bring down.

I like him but I don't think he has great vision. He huts the hole and doesn't do cut backs or zone runs. We need a back with visit to Fi d the cut back lanes. That's how our zone scheme works
