That's a bad video above of telvin Colman. Just shows big runs where there are big holes. He's more than that. This is why I hate highlights. If you watch a game breakdown you will see his vision and cut backs. He would be a good fit in dallas but I don't think goes early on a rb. I think they bring someone in or keeps murray.

Jay Ajayi from Boise State. That's the guy I want regardless of whether Murray is kept or not. His combo of speed, balance, and change of direction ability is great. Especially for a guy who is 6' 215 and not easy to bring down.

Bingo......

And I don't mean to sound like a homer.....

But Doug Martin was a 1st round pick..and Doug Martin isn't half the back as Ajayi. How BSU ever stole this kid out of Texas is beyond me. He's the #1 back on my board. Gurely was probably #1 before he got hurt.....But trust me on this one....Ajayi is a better all down back than Murray. He's got better vision. He's got better balance. And this kid is tough as nails. I don't know what BSU would have done without this guy this year. It's been a long time since I've seen a back w/ the knack to keep his feet after contact like him. The last time I saw that was Emmitt. The only negitive this kids has got....And it's only slight....Is he will put the ball on the ground occasionally. And that is because he is fighting for extra yardage. I can live w/ that. And as an eye witness....I'd say he has gotten alot better w/ ball security as the season progressed. I'll say it now....he should be a 1st round pick. But someone is gonna get a steal in the 2nd round just because the league doesn't value RBs like they used to. If Seattle were to let Lynch walk in free agency....I can see them spending a #1 pick on him and not miss a beat. Beast Mode 2.0

If we drafted Melvin Gordon III i would go insane.
Best season by a RB since barry sanders pretty much says it all. On a one dimensional team no less. The season opener against LSU showed how he is just on another level. Just makes everything look easy. His patience and acceleration behind our offensive line would be dominant. Really developed as a pass catcher/blocker this season too. His game against Iowa was one of the most impressive performances of any player this year. If you watched that game you know what i'm talking about.

With our line i think you can have any kind of back you want. But let me tell you, this David Cobb kid has something. I can see him being in the league a very long time.

Give me Malcolm Brown...he has adequate speed, nothing break away, though. He runs north and south, runs with power. He has decent vision. He almost never gets negative yardage. Because he shares carries with other backs, plus he had an injury his junior year, he doesn't have much tread on his tires. As far as receiving out of the backfield, he almost never does it, so I do not really know how good he does at it. As for pass protection, he is good, not great. He can definitely improve in the area of pass protection. When on the goal line, he does a great job of getting the ball into the end zone.

Two more reasons I want Brown, he will be a day 3 pick, meaning we can use our higher picks on defense and OL if need be. Also, he went to HS here in the San Antonio area. I saw him play a handful of times at Steele and he was a beast.

Cobb is just a grinder and JAG in the NFL. A journeyman @ most IMO

I agree on Cobb. I like Ajayi but he looks like a down the field runner and hits the hole hard but I don't see the vision ro be able to run this scheme. You have to be able to see the hole coming. The cutback lanes is what makes murray so good. Ajayi hits the hole that's there and if he doesn't he's done. I don't see the bounce out and vision.

Now I haven't watched as much as you have.

I like the safety at Boise st. Darien Thompson. Have you heard if he's coming out? He looks like he can be had mid round. 4 or 5th and develop onto a good player

I can see why you would say that, but i think he has more. When I see him I think of a Fred Jackson type of guy.

There is a ton of RB talent in this years draft. Im also very sold on Malcom Brown, heck get me both Malcoms from Texas.

I could argue that our current RB, and the NFL's leading rusher, doesn't exactly have great vision. A lot of our scheme is based off of running the stretch and the RB making 1 cut and getting up field, something that I don't think will be too difficult to teach to a young back. Don't get me wrong vision is definitely a great quality to look for, but I personally would take the more physically gifted backs. Finding the hole and getting to the 2nd level is actually the easy part of our running scheme in my opinion, what Demarco is able to do after that is what makes him great.

I disagree. Murray is very good at the cutback lanes. He has patience to wait and find the lane. You say you can teach it but randle doesn't have it. He is fast to the hole and rarely finds the cutback lanes.

In a zone scheme there are 2 lanes. You have to find the 1 that's going to be there not the one that's there. The home that is there when you get the ball will be filled soon. The cutback lanes are the one you need to hit. That's where the vision cones in.

I just don't see that in Ajayi. I know it's your guy but I do t see it. Cobb I see it and also Mike Davis and Telvin Colman.
