I find it a head scratcher Shotty got the HC gig a year ago and still feel that way now.

Let me put a scenario to you all (a strange one I admit, but hear me out).

If all 32 teams had to release their HC and hire a new HC (but couldn't rehire their current HC), which of the 31 teams would take Shotty? I will go further, how many would even bother interviewing him?

why does a business worth billions scrape the barrel when there's zero cap impact......am I just not getting something others see?

This is a fools errand. Accomplishes nothing to rehash a unknown. None of us know the future. Let's at very least give the guy a chance before we throw shade. My gawd. Nobody knew who John Madden was or Tom Flores until they got a hc gig. It's what you make of the opportunity. Two very different styles of coaching but got it done. Nobody will be Jimmy or Tom. Let's stop comparing him to Garrett or others. Let's let him be him. He's his own guy. The staff hires so far have shown that. Let ourselves be happy for once lol. Can we please have nice things? Do we the fans need to emotionally flog ourselves with these threads? No disrespect meant. Let it play out. Be positive. We can't control the past

I think with what he did with the Cowboys offense this season he would get a look from a few teams. That wouldn't have been the case last year though. As for why, Jerry is on record saying he doesn't value coaches so why would he pay big money for one?

After last season, perhaps the real question is " Which NFL team wouldn't pick Shoddy?"

Since the thread asks, ok fine. I'll go ahead and say Pittsburgh, a team like the Titans and the Cards. Also, prior to Miami hiring hafley, he would have been great in Miami.

I agree about Miami .. I could have seen them hire him.

With the year his offense had I could also see some teams with young struggling offenses look closely at him as well, if not for head coach then definitely for offensive coordinator.

Im not sold on Schottenheimer by any means, but the staff hes put together may well work out.

We do appear to he doing things differently and he looks to be influential in that.

Consequently I'll place a moratorium on hating our coach in order to see how the off season shapes up.

To be fair there are several head coaches in the NFL you could say that about until they prove otherwise.
To your point, many were skeptical about the Liam Cohen hire down in Jville. In short order, he proved his medal. Same thing about the Panthers HC. Even at 8-9, he overachied getting that bunch of curmudgeons into a post season game. Conversely, Gannon was given high praise ,as were the cards when they hired him. It was a bit weird how he continues to get low scrutiny, even now. Lol. When we thought about hiring him for DC, the media and many fans were throwing shade our way, predicting we will "settle" for a failed hc to be DC. Yet the Packers hire him to be their DC, and oh boy, " what a great hire, the Packers are geniuses." This is the ridiculous crap we must deal with constantly. Now let's show the league we are for real. I have faith in my team, in spite of the owners.
