Which teams in Cowboys history have owned us at times?

Adding more: There were only three teams that had a winning record against the 92-95 Cowboys: Rams, Dolphins, and Browns each at 1-0. Each were that odd flat season game any team can have.

No team who played Dallas more than once during 92-95 had a winning record against them.

I remember McNabb being like 9-1 in the early 2000's versus Dallas. Once McNabb couldn't run his career ended but he was very good for like 6 or so years.

Maybe had to be there? My memory is that was the team to fear 94 and on. Never felt that way about Green Bay, Denver or the other NFC East teams during that period.
I was there in a sense as I watched all of it. SF didn't own us in the 90s. We beat them 2 of 3 years in the biggest game of the conference and back then, essentially the Super Bowl as the AFC was way weaker than the NFC. Dallas was the dynasty of the 90s, not Dallas. So therefore, no way they owned us.

The 1968-69 Cleveland Browns did a number on the Cowboys, ending 2 seasons with devastating playoff losses. Both the 1968 and 1969 Cowboys were talented, outstanding teams, specifically the 68 squad but Blanton Collier, the Browns Head Coach, found a way to have his passing game just light up what was a great Cowboys Defense with their Great WR Paul Warfield seemingly running free through their Secondary. The 1968 loss sent Don Meredith into retirement after he got benched in the 3rd Period of the Playoff Game and the 1969 loss had Coach Landry at possibly the lowest point in his career,to the point that Meredith, just having retired, visited him at his home and told Landry he should retire for his own good.

The continual failure to beat San Fran regular season or playoffs is soul piercing for any longtime fan, made worse by the last defeat that was nothing less than a body slam on the entire roster. But putting it into perspective, there have been far better teams in Cowboys history that were still owned by other teams.

First two that come to mind are the 70's Dynasty and 90's dynasty, which were much better teams.

The 90's dynasty was ALSO owned by San Francisco in the mid-90s. Yes, we beat them in 92-93 NFC Championship, but 94 on they owned us and as others have pointed out, they would have stopped the third Lombardi for that dynasty if Green Bay hadn't knocked San Fran off in the Playoffs.

The 70's dynasty could never get past the Pittsburgh Steelers dynasty, even with one of the greatest QBs in NFL History, Roger Staubach. Otherwise, they would have been the 'Team of the 70's.'

60's teams had Green Bay.

We have fans here that go all the way back to the Eddie LeBaron days. Just curious which teams you remember owning us for a few years, regular season and postseason? Those teams the franchise never could shake?
The 70s Steelers. Not only were both SBs losses, the '77 Cowboys beat Denver in the SB but their worst loss that season was 28-13 in Pittsburgh.

Denver eliminated the '77 Steelers in the divisional round.

For the 70s Steelers -- not quite. The Cowboys did beat them in '72 with Craig Morton at quarterback. (Staubach was hurt.)
Since the Dallas reboot of '75, the Steelers beat us every time we played them. It was annoying.

Yes they've owned us the last two seasons San Francisco does not own us throughout the history..

The 49ers improved to 20-19-1 all-time against the Dallas Cowboys, including an 11-10 record at home
and by the way I believe the last 12 they might Be 7 and five against us... I know what it feels like but it's probably not exactly what I would call owned it's just a kick in the gut and a nice rock of the cherries the last three games but really the two playoff games are really close this is the only game I remember they absolutely destroyed us we had no chance non competitive

The 90s Cowboys completely owned the Packers. Beating them 8 straight times. By the time the Packers won a game, the Cowboys were a shell of what they used to be.

Arizona has had our number this century it seems...

I can't ever remember a time when I've been a fan and we've beat Denver.

Brady and New England had our number every single time.

And obviously San Francisco these past two seasons...
That is the craziest thing is the Arizona Cardinals really haven't been that good outside of the little burst they were with Warner at quarterback but really they're beating us even when they're down it is strange but also I wonder how what the record is at Cowboys stadiums versus on the road this whole thing with the on the road and on grass all sides of the ball it just seems like we need to start practicing on grass I mean real grass outside I mean I don't know what they need to do but there's something to this if you look at the two games that we lost that we blew big leads last year we're on the road Green Bay Jacksonville we lost Arizona and San Francisco in a big way both outdoors on the road on grass or at least it looks like grass either way outdoors on the road there's something going on here I know people touched on it before but yes the cardinal things the strangest thing I've can't even I can't even come up with an answer..

Yes and also Prescott beat the Packers his rookie year in the regular season then actually played very well against them in the playoffs the defense lost that game for us

Yeah. The offense carried that defense. Time of possession, very few turnovers, and the D didn't see the field too often. But that D was bad.

The 60s Green Bay and Cleveland.

The 1970s Cardinals with Hart, Metcalf and Mel Grey. They always beat us at least once, even during the years we went to the SB. And the 70s Steelers, regular season or SBs.

The 80s, towards the end it was everyone, but the Niners and Rams.

The 90s started with the Eagles but Boys got passed them, the Cardinals were always pesky but Boys toyed with them, Niners maybe in 94 and 95.

From 2000 on Eagles, Patriots (b4 last week), Niners again, Broncos....

The Packers in the 60s and the Steelers in the 70s. They kept beating us in the biggest games.

Philly in late 80's/early 90's up until the 1992 playoff game, they owned us bad.
Bounty bowl, 11 sacks on Aikman, etc.

that was ugly from a Cowboy fan perspective.

That streak includes a game when the starting QB was Jason Garrett.

The Cardinals could run out 22 Stephen Hawkings and they would win by double digits

Wrong decade there.
Cowboys and Forty-niners played 9 times in the 90's decade.
SF 5 wins, DAL 4 wins. Cowboys won 3 straight early 90s, 49ers won 3 straight mid 90's.
Regular season wins -- SF 4, DAL 1
Playoff \NFCCG wins - DAL 2, SF 1
It was the 80's when San Francisco "owned" Dallas___5-1
After a blowout regular season loss to the Cowboys in 1980, the Forty-Niners won the next 5 during that decade - 4 regular season wins and the NFCCG game victory.

Yep, it's the 3 straight in mid-90's I'm talking about. Didn't own us for a decade, but for sure a few years. Let's be honest, Neil O'Donnell was our MVP in the Pittsburgh Super Bowl, glad that the Packers knocked off the 49ers so we didn't have to play them on the way up. 49ers were in our heads, we were in Packers heads. Remember those were the days when the "true" Super Bowl was played in NFC Championship Game.
