Which teams in Cowboys history have owned us at times?

For the 70s Steelers -- not quite. The Cowboys did beat them in '72 with Craig Morton at quarterback. (Staubach was hurt.)
Ah, the game with the Calvin Hill TD pass and a run. IIRC, Morton was not good that day.

Edit: Looked it up, Craig Morton was 11-29, 142 yds, no TD's, 2 INTS

Yep, it's the 3 straight in mid-90's I'm talking about. Didn't own us for a decade, but for sure a few years. Let's be honest, Neil O'Donnell was our MVP in the Pittsburgh Super Bowl, glad that the Packers knocked off the 49ers so we didn't have to play them on the way up. 49ers were in our heads, we were in Packers heads. Remember those were the days when the "true" Super Bowl was played in NFC Championship Game.
A "coulda-shoulda-woulda" scenario is always something fans can bring up = 49ers beating Cowboys if they had gotten by the Packers.
2 championship wins to 1 championship loss__
4 regular season losses to 1 regular season win
Final count = 5-4; 90's decade was a wash IMO.
You're right about NFC title game in that era___
17-year span__1980-1996 the NFC won 15 of the 17 Super Bowls, including the last 13 straight from 1984-1996 season.

Yeah, Morton didn't have a very good day, but the defense was so dominant that the team won anyway.

Didn't the Eli led giants have our number for a bit. The 49-ers and Steelers also come to mind. AZ has always been a pain in the rear everytime.

Wasn't a wash. We owned the 49ers in the 90s. The end result was:

Cowboys 3 Super Bowls
49ers 1 Super Bowl

The most heartbreaking L's, have come from the 49ers, lots of playoff exits from them and one of the most terrible of all time (for us) The Catch, plus the 1994 season NFC Championship game and two recent playoff exits. They've won the last 3 playoff games.

Hate to see the Rams in the playoffs too. They seem to have our number.

As far as regular season, we are 1-5 against the Ravens I believe and lost 7 in a row to the Broncos or something like that.

VanqueroTD - who started this thread - stated the Niners OWNED the Cowboys that decade; take it up with that member.

I didn’t say the decade. I only meant mid-90’s. I called them the 90’s Cowboys, maybe that’s what led to the confusion.

There’s another one… Broncos. That weird AFC team that just gives us problems for some reason.

I would also say any team with Tom Brady at QB up until the end of his career. Better late than never.

Adding more: There were only three teams that had a winning record against the 92-95 Cowboys: Rams, Dolphins, and Browns each at 1-0. Each were that odd flat season game any team can have.

No team who played Dallas more than once during 92-95 had a winning record against them.
That dolphins game was the Leon Lett snow screw up on the blocked FG, wasn't it?
