Which trade would you have made?

Looking only at the actual trades that were made, which one(s) would you have pulled the trigger on?

No speculation on players who weren't traded because we have no idea what the asking price was. Just strictly the ones we know were completed, assuming Dallas would have had to pay the same price.

Roquon Smith....but I would have traded LVE to make roster and cap space.

D. None of the above. Lol

I might have been tempted by the R. Smith trade but the smart money is betting that is a bad trade over the life of the contract.

I do agree with you, though. That may have been the most intriguing trade to make.

I might have been willing to take the gamble the Jaguars did on Calvin Ridley. It's not costing them much, but could have a huge payoff. Can't say I would have been upset with the Claypool move, although the cost seems a little steep.

It's been clear to me in past conversations that you and I feel differently about how you improve your team, so I'm not surprised that none of the above would be your answer.

Derrick Brown and sign OBJ as an FA.

Panthers did not trade Brown, so he's out of the equation. Can't trade for a player who wasn't traded because you don't know a) if the team was willing to trade him or b) how much it would have cost.

Tired of the "what would you have done" question....this isn't just a "today" thing....this is YEARS of being either to cheap or too afraid to do ANYTHING of note in Free Agency. And it isn't our job to answer "what would you have done"....we aren't the Billionaire GM with a full staff of NFL experts...let them figure it the hell out!!!

I wouldn't have traded Amari Cooper for a raggedy 5th round draft pick, tried like heck to get his cap number down (even if I hated him) and been in good shape for the run we are going to try to go on....

Ridley may never play in the NFL again, betting on NFL games as a player is already bad enough, let alone on your own team.

Maybe. But the gamble on the talent had some built-in safeguards.

Then, this is not the thread for you. There are plenty of other complaint threads about the trades or lack of them. .

Roquan Smith if I had to choose one. I love the player but I wouldn’t want a huge contract for an off-ball LB, so I don’t know that I would have. The trade compensation was definitely doable for me though. I like Smith’s demeanor and locker room value as well.

Other than that…. Maybe Claypool but I think a 2nd was too much, so probably not. Also, I’ve heard that he can be a locker room issue. If that is true, then definitely not.
