Which Wide Reciever Should We Go After?

I've always been high on Charles Rogers. He's still young and I'm hoping he's gotten all the injuries out of the way early (ala Jimmy Smith). His substance abuse related suspension's another issue, but GMs and HCs have proven time after time that they are willing to overlook these issues to a point (if they are physically gifted enough).

I'm also high on R.Wayne, but I don't think he's #1 material. And since we probably won't invest heavily on WRs (too many other holes), I'd prefer Rogers over Wayne...I think he has a much higher ceiling. I see him as a faster Burress.

I haven't seen Curtis play, so my judgemnet of him may change.

Did anyone see Brandon Marshall of UCF's performance in their bowl game the other day?

He looks impressive and is 6-4 230 lbs.

I like him as a day 2 pick, which is all i think we should spend on a WR right now.

Didn't I mention a while back that Koren Robinson would have done wonders for the Cowboys? Now, look at him... a Pro Bowl kick returner.

Sad, isn't it?

I would prefer we bring in a WR that was a pro bowl WR.

Kick returner is nice and all but still............

They have Tom Brady, funny how you left out that part.

Jimmy. Look who the poster is. It is really no surprise.

Now as for the WR I would go after. T.O. all the way. It will not take him long to win most in here over.

T.O., period. I want a proven game-breaker, not a potential one. I want some swagger injected back into this offense. I want it ALL which we lost when Irvin went down. Until we replace that we will never be the Cowboys we all know and love.

Fix that OLine and bring in a guy like TO and we WILL be a force to be reckoned with week in and week out. No possibles. No maybes. We will be, period.

BONUS: With TO, Terry would NEVER be double-teamed again! The only way any team can seem to stop him is by double teaming him, but which team in their right mind would worry about Terry Glenn over Terrell Owens. That's not a question, too obvious of an answer. Not only Terry, but opens it up for Witten, Keyshawn and Julius all that much more.

If we want to win now. If we want to be the best team we possibly can be in the shortest amount of time. T.O. is the only equation which adds up. Jerry will see this. Bill will see this. T.O. will see this. T.O. will be a Cowboy next season. And it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he's wearing #88. Out of respect for Irvin. As a chance for the first time in his career to be part of some great legacy even he can't deny is bigger then himself....as a Dallas Cowboy's WR wearing the number #88. Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, "Terrell Owens"... Go ahead 'n try, it doesn't get much bigger then that!

But if I had to name one from FA or Other teams, It would have to be Charles Rogers from the lions I think we would be able to get him fairly cheap. I know he has showen that he is injury prone and a bit of a goofball but I still think he has alot of upside its just that the detroit franchise is bringing him down.

You just identified the reasons why he Cowboys should not sign him. The guy is a disaster waiting to happen. No, if you want a real WR, then hope T.O. comes to Dallas with his hat in hand, and begs Big Bill to sign him. T.O. cantake this team to the Super Bowl.

If you want to win a Super Bowl.....you roll the dice and sign Terrell Owens...if you want to try and win the Super Bowl, you sign Charles Rogers, Kevin Curtis and the Koren Robinson's of the league.....

Yes he is a disaster waiting to happen, but I formly belive that Owens will behave at least for a year, just like when he arrived with the Eagles....after that, he is a timebomb....the key is a "friendly" contract....high risk and high reward...

and someone brought up a list of WRs expected to be RFAs and UFAs this upcoming offseason, and CUrtis was on the UFA list

Then that list was wrong. He is restricted and he is not going anywhere.

He has basically kept Issac Bruce a backup since he came back from his injury. The Rams won't tender him at anything less than a first round choice. He is good, but not that good.

I think we should go after Patrick Crayton. Really go after him hard and tell him that the number two WR spot is his for the taking next season. Keyshawn's ego can be managed by Parcells and Witten should be featured more prominently in our offense on a consistent basis. I'm all for drafting a WR at any position in the draft. I want us to target OL and FS in free agency.

Whoever we get, let's try to stay away from injury prone receivers since that has been our trend the past 10 years.

I prefer we add depth to the position. We don't need one All-Star. We need about 3 young, reliable, intelligent receivers with great hands. They don't have to be the fastest guys in the world or the tallest. We need depth

I hear ya and am with ya... I have a feeling that The Dallas Cowboys is where he really always wanted to be whether he knew it or not... I think he cannoy only be handled by JJ and BP - he would welcome it... make him part of something REAL and SPECIAL and he will go with flow... he is immature as a person, just gotta cater to that and he will give you 1000% on the field. I want that attitude back in Dallas. And while you are at it - GET me VERBA!

I was pretty impressed with the SF WRs - Brandon Lloyd and Arnaz Battle. Both restricted free agents though.

I'd rather go after Koren Robinson than Charles Rogers. I may be kidding myself, but Koren looks like he woke up similar to how Cris Carter woke up when Buddy Ryan cut him loose. Parcells' choke hold might keep him focused.

Something about taking Detroit Lions castoffs seems like a mistake.

I like the SF WR alot too, but so does SF. Lloyd is going to be real good. He's improved in each of his 3 years in the leauge, and done it with some pretty bad QBs. SF is not going to let him get away.
